A healthy, tasty mix
Volkman Seed is well-known among “hard-core” bird enthusiasts for its purity and quality. This is a nice mix of seed without the added fillers and artificially colored tidbits found in many commercial mixes. My sun conure enjoys about a tablespoon a day, in addition to her Harrison’s organic pellets and fresh food that I prepare. She is going on 17 years and is in the peak of health, and I’m sure her diet has a lot to do with that!

Quality seed, packaging and bird approved flavor
My green-cheeked conure loves this brand’s seed variety. A lot of brands include ingredients, often dyed, which she just won’t eat and at least a quarter of the product ends up on the cage floor. Packaged well for freshness and a reclosable bag.

Lovebirds eat all the seeds
I have been purchasing birdseeds from different brand which comes with some artificial food mix and large sunflower seeds but my lovebirds never eat them and just wasted. then tried this seeds and my lovebirds eat them all without any wasting.

I thought my bird would love it because shes a conure, but she doesnt like it at all….now I mix it with other bird food and I’m slowly using it up. Volkman’s is one of the best if not the best bird food supplier in the U.S; this is a good product its just my picky bird I think….

Picky Lovebird Finally Eating Well
What can I say, the mix is excellent and our lovebird was a very picky eater to the point of being really skinny no matter what we offered her and yes, we have had her to an avian vet. We decided to give this a try and she is now eating well. The feed was fresh and had a really good variety of things for her to eat. Finally a winner! Thank you Volkman!! I will be ordering more in the future.

Excellent mix
I was buying this for my parrotlets, and they seem to like it. They’re picky and tend to leave about half the seeds in their dishes untouched normally. With this mix it’s reduced to probably a third. I just realized Volkman makes a parrotlet mix, so I’ve switched over to that. We’ll see how they do, or if I need to go back to the Lovebird/Conure mix.

My parrotlet, my lovebird, and my golden wing parakeet LOVE their Volkman seed mix. They also get the soak and serve, but when I am not able to feed in person and clean out the dishes right away, this is ideal for them. The ONLY dry seed mix my small/medium sized birds will ever get. Very little goes to waste, they really go nuts (pardon the pun) over the flat green pumpkin seeds, but they love it all. This is a wonderful blend and my little birds are glowing. I have a Blue Ringneck, a colorful Lovebird (a mutation-lovely colors) and a lime green Parrotlet. They are in fine feather with the most vivid colors. Thank you for making such a great alternative to the fresh food I prefer. Volkman products are the next best thing to making it or mixing it yourself!

While my extremely picky Sun Conure took awhile to accept the change in food, it is really worth it to have the seeds pre-shelled like this. MUCH LESS MESS to clean up. And he likes the food just fine now.

I chose this rating because my birds really like this seed (although I know they wish it had sunflower seeds in it) Most of the seed I get often has what looks like dog food in it, large peppers, and mystery odd items. My conyurs will not eat this other stuff and it just goes to waste. Very little is wasted by my birds with this seed which makes it an excellant buy.
