    The best!

Over the years, have tried a few retractable leashes. Flexi is hands down the BEST quality. They don’t kink or jam. I have a really beat up one I bought over ten years ago. It still works, just scuffed. I have in a couple colors and a new black one. We use the scuffed one when we’re doing something messy or it’s raining. I’ve thrown away other brands after only a few weeks or months. Flex is are made in Germany. They are the best you can buy, and the price is great.

    Sturdy, safer

Love this leash! I’ve had a flexi for 5 years and it’s still doing great. Realized they had an option for this leash which is much better than the cord kind. When the cord is fully extended I can’t grab it with my hands without hurting them. This one I can grab and make sure my exited dog isn’t pulling me like crazy. It’s safer for him to- if it accidentally gets wrapped around his leg it doesn’t hurt him.

Game change with this, my dog like pulling and run fast

my rescue dog loves to run super fast at the beginning of the walk, or whenever he sees anything move, this is game change….Sami love it! give him more freedom to run but not too far away and easy to get him back!

    Retractable leash

I really like the lightness of complete leash, but especially the light weight of the leash material itself for my small dog friend. High quality! It has already out lasted 3 different leashes and is still working, and looking great. It gets well used, to put it mildly, and shows no wear or signs of wearing out! Great price and well worth it! Big Thumbs Up!

    Sturdy and Heavy

Love this brand of the leash, very sturdy & heavy, my dog is not easy to control due to the size and weight but this make it easy for me to walk my dog.

    Only leash for me

This is my second one. I have probably used the last one for 5 years and finally I dropped it and it stopped retracting. It is very durable being dropped on pavement often. Love the strap style width of the lead as opposed to the cord style. Never tangles. Handle is really comfortable. I walk a dog with no eyes and through the years the click stop and gentle tug of the retraction has been key to me guiding him and alerting him of upcoming curbs and obstacles.

    Durable for hyper shelter dog

We adopted a shelter dog a few months ago. He’s part beagle and part hound so his nose takes him everywhere without regard and he’s a serious puller. I ordered one size up for this reason. He’s yanked and jerked on this leash so hard and so often while running around that I was sure it was going to snap and break. The fact that it’s held up with all the abuse it’s gotten is impressive. We also have another flexi leash we got years ago for our other pup that still works perfectly. Definitely recommend.

    Strong, smooth, and manageable

The leash seems durable. It has a very smooth feed and retractable nylon belt. It is light weight. The brake button is easy to control, and the locking button is properly placed so it doesn’t get accidentally engaged. I have big hands, which just barely fit inside the handle, which can become uncomfortable at times. All in all, it is a good value for the money.

The only way to walk your dogs!

By far the best way to walk your pets! After using this on a dog that wouldn’t walk on a leash and did after hooking him up to this leash, I was able to easily walk him from there on. Best brand, best leash!

Nothing like the even tension of a flexy

I had bought one before but after using it constantly in Summer and Winter and dropping it and being dragged around by a dog that thinks it is being chased, it was time for a new one. I could not wait to get the original Flexy that reals in quickly with the dog.

The best retractable dog leash on the market

I have re-purchased this leash a few times (not due to poor quality, due to loss). I have tried many others trying to save money but they all end up being a huge waste. I have a 5 y/o 65-70ish pound pittie-boxer mix. She listens well and has actually gotten to know the length in which she can go out ahead. Smooth retraction, locks & unlocks easily. Also have used as a tie out. Have never had an issue with flexi. I have even purchased the multi box and light. I only wish they made more products. I highly recommend them if you want to be able to give your dog a little freedom on walks.

    Study & Strong

I have a 210 lb Euro Great Dane. Sometimes he likes to pull when he sees a rabbit when on our walks. Thus leash will lock and stop a very large dog. Just be careful, the lease locks, but your feet don’t lol. My big boy has launched me a couple times lol. But the lease didn’t falter or break. This is my 2nd leash. In 20 years. My 1st one i had my dog when I wasn’t looking decided to chew on it and chewed through the very strong strap. But, this is by far the best leash I’ve ever owned.Only complaint, the 1st leash was 30 bucks, the 2nd leash was 72 bucks. Inflation I guess!!!!

    Durable and reliable

When I adopted Dexter three years ago, I bought a Flexi lead. During those three years, it has been dragged on pavement and over sand, and dropped in salt water and on hard surfaces (multiple times). Only now it’s starting to show one sign of wear at the point where the lead attaches to the clip. And after all that, somehow miraculously the lead retraction and locking mechanisms still work flawlessly. It has never once “tangled” or jammed. Not once! With the lead beginning to look at little worn at the tip, I’m not taking chances with Dexter’s safety, so I ordered two new ones. The new one has a bigger handle that is very comfortable for me. (This is saying a lot because I have carpal tunnel syndrome and my hand will go numb I hold onto anything too long.) The Flexi feels quite sturdy in the hand and the type of plastic is comfortably grippy even when wet. Lead retraction is very smooth and the locking mechanism is reliable and easy to operate. Why I will never go back to a traditional leash:- Dexter loves the opportunities I can give him to run a little bit ahead and take his time sniffing something while I carry on walking.- I love that I can furl him in and walk him at my heel when there is traffic, people, or other dogs nearby.- I like that because there is always tension on the lead, it never gets stuck under the dog’s belly.I have no experience with other lower-priced brands of retractable leads, nor do I need to. I trust Dexter’s safety to my Flexi.

The sturdiest and most ergonomic leash you’ll find – if retractable is appropriate for your dog.

My dog is elderly and blind so he doesn’t do any running which makes retractable perfect for him. He can wander at his own pace safely while I sit and wait. If I need to stop him from moving forward I can do that immediately with the thumb lock, and can let go just as quickly. He was recently attacked by two stray cats and the leash is sturdy enough even when fully extended that I was able to pull him away far enough, quickly, to separate them and intervene. This is my 3rd Flexi leash purchase ever. My first broke when I dropped it 3 stories, and it was replaced immediately. It never broke again no matter how much dropping or scuffing it encountered. The 2nd was purchased for another dog and it never had a single problem. Those two are still working as good as new 12 years later, I simply wanted an updated model for its new features (an add on light, and an add on storage compartment that can be attached for holding snacks or waste bags), and a size increase to accommodate arthritis developing in my hands.

    Rewinds WITHOUT twisting!

THIS is the retractable leash that won’t drive you crazy! Several similar leads I purchased folded over on themselves hampering a smooth rewind, created troublesome slack and didn’t always fully retract. With this leash my high energy Weim can launch himself off the porch without pulling me down the steps and we have no rewind issues during our walk. Easy thumb control doesn’t get stuck when it’s time to reel in pup. HIGHLY recommend!!

If you have a flexi leash from 10 years ago, this is a major upgrade

I had an old flexi leash from two dogs ago that I was finding frustrating. We finally got rid of it when the puppy clotheslined my husband and gave him rope burn. Whoops. This is so much smoother, the handle feels better, and the tape is a lot less dangerous than the cord if you have a wild puppy.

    Quality Product as Advertised

The quality is excellent – was recommended by my dog trainer and she knows her stuff. I didn’t want to waste my time with cheap products – this will serve both me and my dog for life! Extremely useful for working the dog from a distanct. Be sure to practice to get the hang of the retrieval and braking mechanisms.i have very small hands but we can make it work.

    Perfect leash

Well made. The 8-meter length allows the dog to rummage in the weeds, yet it is still under control. The spring is strong, but not too strong. I previously bought a cheaper leash (from a different manufacturer) and returned it. I will keep this leash. It is worth the extra money.

    Really long leash

Really long leash, quality material, appears sturdy like it won’t run or snag, my dog pulls and I’m not afraid that it’s going to break. Has great accessories. Bought this brand once before and it held up for over 5 years. Only replacing it now because the leash doesn’t retract as quickly but could still be used.

Holds back our 75lb pound dog just fine for walking purposes.

Holds back our tall Labradoodle dog just fine. Especially when she sees a chip monk or squirrel. Then it can be a struggle. 🙂 Glad we bought it. Good quality too. Should last a long time.

    Works great

This is the second one I have bought. I had to buy a second one, no fault of the first one…my husband accidently cut the first one while trimming flowers and holding onto the dog leash at the same time, lol…whoops! I didn’t even hesitate to look at other brands. I simply logged on and purchased the same one we already had. It is easy to use and I really like the way it locks and unlocks.

    Love Flexi

Being an apartment dweller, I’ve relied on Flexi leads for a couple of decades now. Some people oppose them as dangerous, but typical of many things, they’re only unsafe in the hands of someone who doesn’t know how to use them. The handle has a lock. If you are not in an area where it is safe for your dog to be 16 feet (or however long), away from you, you put it on lock at about 4-6 feet to keep them near you, like when you are near a busy street. And only use Flexi brand. The knockoffs can jam and sometimes use rope which if you panic and try to grab it will shred your hand. Flexi uses a tape that won’t do that. Plus, as I have arthritis in my hands, I find the thick handle easier to grip than the loop on a leash. Just replaced our old one, still working after eight years, but looking a little ragged. We thanked it for its service.

The leashes feel noticeable safer at night. The neon tape is so bright! The entire unit is much nicer than the normal black and blue ones I have been using for years. Splurge and upgrade your retractable leashes! I love the orange color!

    Best Retractable Leash so far.

The locking thumb switch works smoothly and without any binding. The internal mechanisms are free and moving smoothly. Everything that moves does so well that you can hardly feel the rewinding movements.Edit: One week in and I’m loving this leash even more. The neon reflective leash tape pops in visibility and is designed to stay flat which retracts perfectly. Once you get used to the workings of the thumb switch, it becomes a part of your hand. And then there’s the add-on Flexi Multi Box that attaches to the manufactured opening of the leash handle to use for either training snacks or, as I use it, for poop-bag rolls.I believe that you will love this retractable leash for its superior design styling and ruggedness.

No doubt – the best on the market

This is my third Flexi dog leash over the past 20 years. I still have them all! They are all in excellent working order but my one I’ve had over 14 years is finally showing its age on the ribbon leash. Regardless, the new one is an incredible upgrade. It is lighter and more comfortable to hold and the light add on is a vast improvement over the original design. Of course the baggie/treat attachment has always been the best attachment. I can’t say enough good about this leash and its accessories.

Flexi is the only brand of these to buy

We have multiple Flexi “brand” dog leashes. AND we have multiple other brands…that I have taken to Goodwill. Most of ours are the 16 foot models. This is the 25 foot model.Flexi is a German brand and extremely well made and easy and reliable to operate. None of the others are like that. They all suck or break or both… I got the others mostly in an emergency where I forgot the Flexi’s. Then you leave it like in a car and think, OH good, I have a leash in the car. Then comes the time to use it and you cuss as it either hangs up in the internal mechanism or starts to come apart.Flexi’s cost more but if you have to buy two or three to last as long then what have you saved particularly since they are going to give you fits even when they sort of work. WE literally have a couple that are 15 years old. We try to have a couple in each vehicle. They have “improved” them in the last couple years, but still sell the “classic” ones like this. I prefer the old “classic” version but the new ones are OK, just a bit different in how they work and seem a bit less robust on the outer part but then again, less subject to getting banged and breaking. I think internally they are the same and that’s the important part. So, it’s personal preference. But I do find the older ones cost a bit less, in general.I found this 25 footer and it was a great deal cost wise so I bought TWO for our crazy woman 50 lb wolf looking pup rescue. That’s how good a deal it was. She needs the length although she can build up speed fast and jerk your arm chasing most anything that moves. At least with these, they don’t break when she gets to the end. You just have a hurt shoulder. It’s better than breaking and her just keeping going. Ours is a runner so this is great. So, go Flexi is my recommendation always, look for some deals like this one was around half or more LESS than the stores… But even if you gotta spend full price Flexi is worth it.

Doesn’t make a hissing noise when retracting, so good for cats

I purchased this for walking my cat. Some leashes make a loud hissing noise when they retract quickly, which alarms my cat. This one does not, and is pretty quiet, so he seems not to notice he’s on a retractable leash instead of a standard one. I like the tape because it doesn’t get caught up on tall grass, etc. as easily as a cord does. The red color shows up well if I set it down or need to dig it out of a bag or from under his stroller seat. It’s extremely compact, but is comfortable in my hands (average size, female). I think I’ve finally found my go-to leash, and will buy it again if I need an extra or if I misplace this one.

This retractable leash is perfect for cats. I wanted one that is lightweight and wouldn’t weigh down the harness. This does exactly that. It retracts smoothly and with ease, and locks with the click of a button. I’m very impressed with the quality for the price.

    Great leash!

I really like these. I had one that lasted 2 years before I bought this one. I bought it a a retail store near me last time and was charged twice as much. I waited to get another one because I thought it would be as expensive this time, but no. I have a pit-lab mix. She’s high energy and a puller when she gets overstimulated, and these are amazing. She actually chewed a little bit of it when she was a puppy and I tied that section into a knot and it gave it some extra strength in that area and it continued to work like a champ. She also loves to swim, and we go to a park where she swims in the salt water, and that didn’t effect it at all. Great item. Great length for letting her get some energy out when she has to be leashed and wants to run around. Will buy again!

good design, solid leash from 1′ to 26′

This Flexi model is our favorite so far. Our first retractable was a store brand which worked fine but was only 16′, a good cheap test to see how I liked them. Since I have 2 dogs I went back for a second retractable and spend money on the higher priced Flexi because they offered the 26′ option. It has a slightly different locking button style and adjustable handle for people with smaller hands. Then wanting a second 26′ leash without the silly adjustable handle I found this one and other family members like this locking button style better. Aside from 2 dogs twisting the leashes around each other, the leash stays out of their feet since it remains pulled taught. If I lock the leash at a long length they can get tangled pretty bad so I only lock them at very short length. Which is nice because this 26′ leash can be any length you want.

Great leash. Perfect for a dog that runs like a rocket.

Didn’t consider the fact that our faster than lightning dog would have 52 feet of leash to get up to the speed of sound if he starts behind us and runs forward. Have to make sure my arm isn’t already fully extended or he will rip it off. Great leash. Very solid. Just got another rocket dog this weekend, prob buy another leash too

So happy with this brand. I can’t handle a regular leash and the Flexi lets me walk our (little) dog with some control. We have the larger Flexi for our big dog that my husband uses and the same great quality: cord, control, balance. Really great product and brand.

    Our preferred leash

Have used these leashes for several years now and they hold up well. Time wears all things so this replaced an earlier same brand leash that the lock mechanism finally gave out after about 5 years of use. This was with a 110 lb dog not a ankle biter so no complaints on quality.

For kitten: so far, so good

The harness I bought for my cat (the vet estimates she’s about 7 months old, but she’s a little small for her age, only about 6 pounds) came with a basic 6 foot leash. Unfortunately, she and I frequently have very different opinions about which way to go, and I wanted to give MYSELF more “room to roam” without literally dragging her across the garage floor if I needed to, for instance, step back inside to safely dispose of a piece of broken glass I’d found. She’s also faster than me, and I worried that if I didn’t have the ability to occasionally give her a little extra length, she’d try to jump off the porch and hurt herself because I hadn’t had a chance to catch up yet, and the leash wasn’t long enough to reach the ground. I’ve only taken her outside a couple times with this leash, but so far, it’s been great! The tension seems good, and isn’t too strong for her. The leash itself is definitely a thinner material than the other leash and harness are made out of, so I can see why some people have had issues with it breaking. But I assume that the lack of thickness is also what allows this leash to be so small and lightweight. I guess we’ll just have to see how it goes.If you’re getting this for a cat, I do recommend letting them sniff it for a minute before you attach it to their harness. I didn’t think to take this step, and for some reason, it nearly scared my cat out her wits as I tried to attach it. But after she had a chance to check it out for herself, everything was fine.I will admit that I have made a couple of modifications to the use of this leash that I imagine would not be “manufacturer approved”. For starters, one aspect I liked with the old basic leash was being able to wrap the “handle” around my wrist and between my fingers, so I still had the use of my hand, and it wasn’t so easy for me to drop it. So when this leash came with an extra collar to be used in addition to a dog’s normal collar, I decided I needed it more than my cat did, so with the help of a carabiner to connect the two ends, I threaded it through this leash’s handle as an extra “collar” for my wrist. Also, I decided I’d like to give my cat just a little bit of tension-free roaming, so I actually clipped the old leash to her harness, and then clipped this leash to the “handle” of the old leash. As I said, we’ll see how it goes, but so far, so good.

    Very pleased …..

Don’t let the thin leash fool you, it is very strong. I love using this when I take my young GR out for walks. It gives her more roaming freedom and yet I still have control. It is important to have a dog that is disciplined on a leash for this to work. And I use a Herm Spengler pinch collar in conjunction with this. When she is getting too far out I put the “brakes” on and she gets the signal to come back to me. The lock mechanism works very well. Easy one handed use.

    Great leash

This is an excellent product. Easy to use, especially the collar snap at the end. Worth the price.

Have used these leashes for several years now and they hold up well. Time wears all things so this replaced an earlier same brand leash that the lock mechanism finally gave out after about 5 years of use. This was with a 110 lb dog not a ankle biter so no complaints on quality.
