You need to add very little
THis is a good detergent but you need to add very little. Especially when washing blacks. As it can leave a white residue and also smell really intense even after drying. The smell is nice, i personally like it. But it smells like incense, I know not everyone likes it.

Amazing Products
Absolutely love this laundry soap & all of their products thus far with the company (their soaps are so fragrant and amazing BTW ) ..I was hesitant when my mom first gave me this because I am a Dermatology Nurse and my husband itches and breaks out with anything other than all free/all clear detergent…I did not want to waste it so we gave it a try! & I am SO happy we did!! He has not had any allergic reaction & we have been using for 4 months! Finally a product I can use that smells great hehe & he loves the scent too- we feel like our clothes are actually getting cleaned – its very concentrated and it goes a long well! Derm Nurse Approved !

Smell is wonderful. Softens clothes.
First, I love patchouli but was concerned it would be too overpowering as i dont like overly scented things but it is not. Between my work clothes and my very active child it leave clothes very fresh with only the smallest amount! It is very subtle and seems to somehow soften clothes. Right out of the dryer(I only use dryer balls) our clothes are noticeably softer! Would highly recommend.

Lingering fantastic scent/No allergic reaction
This product smells so good and the scent lingers which is really nice. Also, I am very allergic to most laundry detergents and this is one that I have no issues with. Even All Clear makes me itch.

Fabulous and long lasting
Fabulous awesome long lasting smell. My husband and I get many compliments about the Patchouli smelling awesome. I had a guy in the doctor’s office said I made his day and took him back to the old days. Clothes are cleaner than with commercial laundry soap and you can tell the difference.

I used to like this product
I bought this product several times before and I really liked it. The smell is amazing this time I don’t know what they have changed it now, but it turns my light colored clothes a brownish color will not buy again.Follow up. Customer service reached out to me and credited for the bottle. I will purchase again but just not this scent. Very accommodating.

I don’t know if this really is the best for cleaning, but the fragrance is amazing. We are not a particularly dirty lot, so it does a fine job in the washer. My daughter adds it to her floor cleaning bucket and I water it down a bit and add a dash to my final washer rinse to gain the fragrance. I will often use a bit with my regular detergent–oh you greenies, don’t judge!

Love Zum Products, Great smell, Horrible bottle design
Love this detergent and the scent, but hate the new bottles–they have a terrible pouring spout that spills easily. Plus the cap has a lip to catch residual liquid detergent drips, but there is no place to catch it on the bottle so when you put the cap back on, it collects around the top, drips down the side and makes a mess. What’s the point of the lipped cap when you don’t use a bottle designed to work with it?

LOVE the scent, cleaning performance is so-so
I buy this only for the scent and especially love to wash things like sheets, PJs, and towels with it and then hang them on the line outside to dry. Aromatherapy at its finest! I’ve had bottles that have kept their scent for their entirety but have also experienced what other reviewers have noted regarding the scent substantially fading only a short time after opening the jug.

I was skeptical at first about purchasing because of price for what seemed like a smaller bottle than other brands. But when I used what directions called for half capful I was amazed at how wonderful my clothes smelled after washing and drying! And the scent stayed on my clothes for a long time and I have received many compliments!

I like the product, it’s a good one when it’s about cleaning and washing clothes. I purchased the patchouli scent, which I personally didn’t like much, but with different softer the smell goes away.Maybe a different scent would be better.

I think I love it
This was my first purchase of Zum. The bottle I received was the color pictured but with the large cap. My main question is why the cap sizes changed so drastically on bottles that have the same quantity. I don’t think I can get 32 loads using the cap it came with, but we’ll see.The bottle came in a plastic bag inside the packing box. The cap was cracked and quite a bit of the detergent (one of my alleged 32 loads-worth, at least) was in the bottom of the bag and even leaked through and into the box.That said, I love the product. It smells absolutely wonderful—like the fancy church services with the smoke. I deduct 1 star for the lid size mystery, and blame the rest on the shipping.A lot of the other reviewers are saying that they received a lighter colored detergent. I guess that’s no longer an issue since those reviews are all from a few years ago. Though I believe I got the right color and not a watered down version, I’ll order from the manufacturer next time to compare.

Patchouli for days.
If you love patchouli, this is for you. People will smell where you’ve been, hours after you’ve been there. It’s strong. Too strong for me. I will no longer use it because it is so powerful. But, thats only because of all the comments I was getting at work. I’ve quit using it for several washes but my clothes still smell Noticeable strong. Good stuff, but not for me.

I love this detergent. However, the first time I bought it, it had a strong smell and was a thicker consistency. But the second time I bought it, it didn’t make my clothes smell as strong/good and it seemed a bit more watered down.

I love the smell of this detergent!! And such a little goes a long way, and the scent remains in the clothes until they are worn. But it is not overwhelming.I’d say the value is probably not the best I’ve ever had, but I’m willing to pay a little more if the product has all I’m looking for. I will follow up once I’ve used this a little longer for comments on how well it cleans. For now, I will plan to purchase again if the cleanliness is acceptable, because of the scent!

Smells like Catholic Mass
From the reviews I thought it would be the best smelling laundry soap ever. I was pretty surprised when it arrived and I first smelled it. Clearly these people leaving reviews weren’t raised Catholic, because my gawd it smells like church. It’s a pleasant smell, but reminds me of mass as a child and I don’t think I really want my clothes smelling like mass. 🤷🏻♀️

I’m a die-hard Zum fan. I love anything Zum. I exclusively use their body bars, so when I found they also had Laundry soap, I had to order some. I ordered the Frankincense scent, because I love the earthy scents…I’m completely blown away! This stuff is wicked good! It scents my clothes so well, that I’ve actually received comments from people asking me what I’m wearing. I tell them it’s the Zum Frankincense laundry soap I wash my clothes with. I had one lady pull out a notepad and write the name of the soap down so she could buy some.I cannot express to people how great the Zum laundry soap cleans and scents my clothes. I don’t have to use softener with this either, as it also softens anything I wash in it. I’m not sure how they came up with their laundry formula, but they have really out done themselves with this line of Zum.If you’re on the fence about trying this, just try it. You’ll be happy with it, just like I am. You won’t go wrong.I recommend this laundry soap to anyone that loves clean clothes, and smelling great! Remember, just TRY it!

The scent is not as strong as it could be, but this laundry soap is like fabric softener and laundry soap all in one. Your clothes come out just like you used fabric softener. You could probably use this for babies clothes too, because it’s great for sensitive skin.

I purchased this brand because of no harmful chemicals. This scent smells good. The frankincense smelled like body odor. I tried to order the orange scent but it hasn’t been available. I purchased it because the Tide brand and the Members mark Sams club brands caused my grandchildren to break out. This product cleans well also.

Unfortunately my clothes don’t smell like product after a few days which is a bummer, and I don’t think it washes that great either. I am sensitive to dyes and scents- a friend walked into my place and smelled heavenly- they turned me on to Zum and I gave it a try- its a bit pricy but you only need a little- the temp seems to make tge coconut oil separate so youll wanna give it a shake every so often- otherwise! patchouli stays on the clothes and smells fantastic for days- plus no chemicals

Love this laundry detergent
When I started buying this detergent 2 years ago it was a big splurge for me. But I’m hooked now and buy it every month on subscription to save money. You don’t need a lot so its not as expensive as it seems especially with 15% off. My neighbor’s porch is near my dryer vent and one day she asked what detergent I use because she loved the smell. She now uses it. And, a big plus is even though it has “Fragrance” added along with the essential oils of frankincense and myrrh the company says it does not contain phylates. I also read that it’s not the cleanest detergent but also not on the “bad” list either. My 1 year old grandson has sensitive skin and broke out with a “clean” detergent whith no added scent but is fine with this one. Not only does my laundry smell wonderful (and my downstairs as well when I am doing laundry) it gets my clothes clean and my whites have a noticably brighter appearance. Win-Win-Win in my book!

Doesn’t do well with cold water
I love the product, the smell is there without being over powering. I washed my clothes and I am quite satisfied with the soap. Then I washed my sheets, bamboo sheets that need to be washed in cold water. That was not a great success, I had white streaks on my sheets, which went away after the dryer. But it also means that it did not mix well with the cold water. I’ll just use a detergent for my sheets., or anything that needs cold water. If anyone has a different experience, let me know.

Awesome natural laundry soap, smell doesn’t linger in clothes.
I had been looking to change all my household chemicals for natural products, trying to get endocrine disruptors out of my daughters’ body. I did not wanna have to make every soap and cleaning thing myself because I lack time. So I gave this a try and I love it. I am almost done with my first bottle on Zum lavender soap, It has last me 4 months and I do a lot of laundry; A LOT.We have very hard water where we live, so I had to try different ideas to get the soap to really clean the clothes, and actually wash out. What worked: first, I add 1/4 cup of kosher salt to the washing machine, the add 1/8 to 1/4 of a cup of washing soda (depending on the dirt). Then, I add only 1oz of sum, and my clothes come out completely clean and with no residue. The colors are still doing well. The reason I took of one start is because the smell doesn’t stick around, and it is very unfortunate since the smell is lovely.

Smells wonderful
I am forever getting stopped when I am out. People are always asking am I wearing oil. I find this works very well on most of my cloths cleaning needs. There have been a few times I have had to turn to a stronger laundry cleaner to get spot out. For the most part though I would say this stuff is great.

Love the scent on my clothes.Beware the power! It’s concentrated.I use the GE auto dispenser & I have to turn it off for this cause it uses it too fast & can fill machine with suds. Full of suds!That’s not a problem when I measure & do not overuse. Which give it an extra thumbs up 👍

I love this detergent. Other than the use of essential oils, it’s clean! I was hoping after wash and dry, my clothes would smell like the detergent and THEY DO!! 10/10! My husband and I have fairly sensitive skin and we haven’t had any issues with it either.

Love the scent out of the bottle, but it really doesn’t adhere to clothes afterwards. Seems to clean clothes just fine but haven’t had anything really stained. Doesn’t bother my skin and I have a few skin sensitivites/allergies.Overall I like the Zum products.

It cleans well, it leaves a subtle, nice patchouli scent. It’s not a strong or heavy scent, like some people are used to nowadays… if you really want to smell like patchouli, you’ll probably want to use a cologne, that’s what it’s meant for after all. It is a bit waterier, as some reviews pointed out, than the grocery store brands some might be accustomed to, but I’m aware that viscosity and cleaning power are unrelated. So, yeah, it works, if you’re reading this you’re probably interested, and I think you should try it.

Out of the box: I love the scent of this laundry soap.After trying it: The scent is surprisingly strong and even after washing, it really sticks to clothes! I expected it to be really mild as most products with essential oils have been in the past for me. If you’re sensitive to strong scents, I’d recommend starting with just a small amount (I use 1/4 capful) and working your way up.

I researched for months for a good detergent for my baby before she was born, as her dad and uncle have VERY sensitive skin and I wanted to be prepared if she did. Each one I found had ingredients I wasn’t fond of. This one had the least amount of ingredients that concerned me and had just the right amount of natural scent to still smell pleasant. My daughter was born and does indeed have VERY sensitive skin, but this detergent hasn’t bothered he skin at all! Our whole family loves it!

Makes your cloths fresh and clean. A laundry room staple!
This detergent smells great! My hubby and I have been using it for almost 3 months now. I would say one 64 oz lasts us about 1.5 months. I think we do laundry regularly? But we are only two adults in the household.I like the fact that I only need to use 1 oz at a time. Although, for bedding or heavy material, I feel the need to use more, maybe 2oz. I don’t feel like my comforters are getting as clean as I want. So keep and eye on those loads. Our clothes do feel cleaner and lighter, like there is no residue weighing them down.We are more partial to the Sea Salt scent. It’s light and crisp. I would like to try others, but I don’t want to purchase a large bottle if I don’t like it.

Smell is wonderful. Softens clothes.
First, I love patchouli but was concerned it would be too overpowering as i dont like overly scented things but it is not. Between my work clothes and my very active child it leave clothes very fresh with only the smallest amount! It is very subtle and seems to somehow soften clothes. Right out of the dryer(I only use dryer balls) our clothes are noticeably softer! Would highly recommend.

I’ve been using this laundry soap for over a year now and when I found it I instantly fell in love. My wife and children have sensitive skin and all of the free and clear was getting really old and also had my clothes smelling old 🙄. I was ecstatic when I found this one, not only did they have amazing essential oil based scents, the scent actually lasted in our laundry. We’ve used every scent, I enjoy them all but my favorite is frankincense and myrrh.On to this new packaging and formula.The team clearly didn’t understand the assignment. The bottle is larger as well as the cap, so ok now I have to use more. Not a fan but I can deal with that. The new scent and formula….. throw it away! Throw it all away. It’s not giving what it needs to give and I’m feeling extremely sad about it. It’s feeling like a breakup lol, it was hell getting through the last bottle I purchased. We need the old formula back, this new one just isn’t cutting it.

Zum Clean Laundry Soap
I got a sample packet of liquid and bar soap, room freshener, and balm for a bridal shower 12 years ago and socked it away in my undie drawer. The Pandemic hit and we were using hand soap like crazy. I started using the Zum and it was FABULOUS! Great fragrance, all natural, lasts a while. It is expensive though. We thought we’d try to incorporate it in our home and bought 2, 1/2 gallons for our wash. We smell great! It doesn’t harm the earth, and we get compliments.

Love this laundry detergent
When I started buying this detergent 2 years ago it was a big splurge for me. But I’m hooked now and buy it every month on subscription to save money. You don’t need a lot so its not as expensive as it seems especially with 15% off. My neighbor’s porch is near my dryer vent and one day she asked what detergent I use because she loved the smell. She now uses it. And, a big plus is even though it has “Fragrance” added along with the essential oils of frankincense and myrrh the company says it does not contain phylates. I also read that it’s not the cleanest detergent but also not on the “bad” list either. My 1 year old grandson has sensitive skin and broke out with a “clean” detergent whith no added scent but is fine with this one. Not only does my laundry smell wonderful (and my downstairs as well when I am doing laundry) it gets my clothes clean and my whites have a noticably brighter appearance. Win-Win-Win in my book!

No more stinky front loading washer
Have had years of problems with moldy smell in my washer no matter what I tried. Used All Free and Clear for years. Had to use Affresh frequently. Friend recommended Zum. I cleaned washer with two Affresh and then started using nothing but Zum. I take wet clothing out immediately as usual and dry out the seal. Seal no longer has water retaining residue and no more moldy smell. Have been using Zum for 3 months and it is amazing and the lavender scent is light and refreshing. Suspect that it is the “purity” of this product without a lot of additives. Cleans clothes well and doesn’t bother my super sensitive skin. Thank you Zum.

Excellent cleaning power and all natural!
I like the way it cleans. I like the way it smells.. It’s just a little too strong of a smell – but to be absolutely truthful – it’s probably me rather than the product. I am very very nose sensitive. But I will continue to buy it because I love Zum products and as I said – it’s a killer in the cleaning arena. I might try a different fragrance. Lavender is funny… If you are used to one scent of a lavender, you could be put off by a different type.. I really really like this laundry soap though.

I will use this forever for my family’s laundry
I love this detergent! I found it after searching for non-toxic laundry detergents when our son was born. It smells fantastic. But more importantly, it really gets the job done! It cleans our clothes incredibly well and it keeps them soft – especially towels. It doesn’t fade colors nor leave a filmy residue behind. I feel great about using this for my family because it has only a few ingredients that are natural and safe. Although the bottle and cap are small, I don’t need to use much liquid, so it lasts, making it a good value. I highly recommend this detergent and will continue to use it as long as this company is in business! Kudos!

Smells good but expensive
This stuff is nice, it’s pretty expensive though. Sometimes I get a whiff of patchouli on my clothes later on but it’s not very strong. It’s also very watery, which I’ve noticed with other more natural detergents, so it doesn’t bother me too much. But for the price, it’s easy to go through pretty quickly.

I’m a die-hard Zum fan. I love anything Zum. I exclusively use their body bars, so when I found they also had Laundry soap, I had to order some. I ordered the Frankincense scent, because I love the earthy scents…I’m completely blown away! This stuff is wicked good! It scents my clothes so well, that I’ve actually received comments from people asking me what I’m wearing. I tell them it’s the Zum Frankincense laundry soap I wash my clothes with. I had one lady pull out a notepad and write the name of the soap down so she could buy some.I cannot express to people how great the Zum laundry soap cleans and scents my clothes. I don’t have to use softener with this either, as it also softens anything I wash in it. I’m not sure how they came up with their laundry formula, but they have really out done themselves with this line of Zum.If you’re on the fence about trying this, just try it. You’ll be happy with it, just like I am. You won’t go wrong.I recommend this laundry soap to anyone that loves clean clothes, and smelling great! Remember, just TRY it!

I love the ingredients
I tried several “natural” detergents as I’m on a kick for that inside and out. My husband kept having allergic reactions to each one I tried until I landed on this. I’ve been using this soap for over a year now and no allergies. Personally I feel my laundry comes out just as clean as the regular detergents, but my husband disagrees. He has sweat stain issues that this soap just cannot get rid of. He bought a little of the regular detergent and his sweat stains were washed away. So, I think this soap is great for every day light laundry, but you may need something else to fight more stubborn stains. I prefer the frankincense and myrrh scent the most.

Not over the moon – just ok
I was so excited to get this and use it on my laundry — patchoulli being my favorite essential oil. Regretfully, I was not over the moon. Perhaps I used it too conservatively? I did not get that wonderful aroma in my clothing that I expected. For the money you pay – I expected far more. I would like to try again, maybe a different fragrance.

Works well, lovely scent
I love this laundry soap. It works well for all regular loads as well as delicate fabrics, and the frankincense scent is lovely. Sure I still keep regular detergent on hand for tough jobs but for the most part I use this for everything. Bottle seems to last a very long time as well so it’s a great value.

This is one of the best natural laundry soaps
This and Grab Green Stoneworks (Birch) are the best I am extremely sensitive to fragrance but both of these products do not irritate my nose and throat. It washes my clothes really well and don’t irritate my children’s skin. I love Zum frankincense and myrrh.

Smells great but arrives leaking
I love how this laundry soap smells. The scent isn’t too heavy, smells natural, and lingers on clothing in a subtle way.The only issue is that your package may arrive soggy from leaks. Thankfully it was wrapped in plastic that saved the majority of the liquid. I just cut a hole and drained it into another container to salvage it.

It cleans well, it leaves a subtle, nice patchouli scent. It’s not a strong or heavy scent, like some people are used to nowadays… if you really want to smell like patchouli, you’ll probably want to use a cologne, that’s what it’s meant for after all. Does not aggravate eczema.
I purchased this brand because of no harmful chemicals. This scent smells good. The frankincense smelled like body odor. I tried to order the orange scent but it hasn’t been available. I purchased it because the Tide brand and the Members mark Sams club brands caused my grandchildren to break out. This product cleans well also.

OH MY GOD.
Ive only used this detergent in ONE load and I’m already IN LOVE!!!! Im not even joking when I say this company has got a lifelong customer out of me solely from this detergent. Let me explain. I’m Hispanic so growing up my mom cleaned everything with strong scented cleaners including bleach which means now as an adult, I need stronger scents in household items to satisfy me such as detergente, dishsoaps, dishwasher detergent, all purpose cleaners, etc. I have no joke, ran through probably 15 brands of laundry detergent in hopes of finding one that was good enough for me. I started to get soooo defeated I was ready to settle for a detergent that was good enough to stick to clothing even after being in the dryer which was also a big issue for me! Clothes would smell great after the washer but smelled like nothing after the dryer SMH!!! Not today!!!! This detergent is AMAZING! The scent is definitely mild but present enough for you to smell it off the first sniff. It kind of has a powdery note to it??? Idk it’s very comforting for me. My load still smelled exactly the same way it did in the washer after being in the dryer!!!! HOLY MOLY I think I cried genuine adult tears when I smelled my clothes from the dryer.The way I do laundry is as follows:(1) start washing mashing, dump in however much detergent I need (I followed this detergents instructions. I did not use more detergent than recommended for my load size, then after I see some bubbles forming from the detergent, I dump in like a tablespoon of baking soda (which I added frankincense essential oil).(2) after the washing machine is about halfway full for the load size I’m doing, I start dumping in my load. I had watched a dry cleaners video on tiktok that said detergent smell sticks to laundry better if you do detergent first into washing machine then add the load after NOT adding load first then detergent.(3) once washing machine is done, I place load in dryer in the NO HEAT setting until the load is about 80% dry (usually takes about two cycles of no heat setting) then once my load is 80% dry, I change the dryer setting to low heat. I do this so I prevent significant shrinkage of my clothing and also I want to give the detergents scent as much of a fighting change as possible so the heat doesn’t “kill off” the scent if that makes sense(4) that’s it!! That’s how I do my laundry!I could not be any happier with a detergent, thank you so much Zum for this amazing detergent you’re sharing with us. You have made me so happy and actually cry from joy because I started to get so defeated in my quest of finding a detergents whose scent lasted even after the dryer.THANK YOU

I am sensitive to dyes and scents- a friend walked into my place and smelled heavenly- they turned me on to Zum and I gave it a try- its a bit pricy but you only need a little- the temp seems to make tge coconut oil separate so youll wanna give it a shake every so often- otherwise! patchouli stays on the clothes and smells fantastic for days- plus no chemicals

Laundry is so soft!
Laundry comes out so soft. Love the scent! Came at the right time. I was getting so tired of the commercial brands that have been on the market for years. The scents are just way too strong. This is clean, smelling, and calming.

Awesome Laundry Soap!
My son told me about this laundry soap. Only takes 1/2 cap for a load. Smells terrific and is a soap not harmful detergent! It comes in 64 ounce size so it lasts a long time My favorite way to wash clothes!
