Better than expected – a great product! Fits old Jackson 100 Garden Cart.

I had been looking for replacement tires to fit on a Jackson model 100 garden cart. The cart was old and replacement tires/wheels were hard to find. The old tires had rotted away and the wheels were rusty. The description said these were universal and could be adapted to go on a 5/8 or 3/4 axle. It also came with spacers to be able to adjust the offset of the wheel. The came w/ the 5/8 bearings installed, but they were easy to pop out according to instructions. And the 3/4 bearings popped right in easily when following instructions. They worked perfectly and will not go flat because I chose the foam filled tires that do not need air. Well worth the extra 4 or 5 bucks! Thee are great and came with all the extra hardware I needed them to to customize the application. Very happy !

    Well Named

Wheelbarrow replacement tire is named Universal and that is a good description. I replaced old inflatable tire with this solid flat free design. Inflatable tire had to be re-inflated each time I used the wheelbarrow. This Universal tire comes with an already installed 5/8″ bearing and a 3/4″ bearing if your axle is larger. Included are a variety of spacers to keep the wheel centered on the axle. This company also allows you to contact customer service and request additional sizes of bearings and spacers at no charge. Time will tell if the new wheel holds up over my rocky terrain.

Great to have a run flat yire

Other conventional tires and wheels for wheelbarrow seems to have a short life…rust and often leaking valves. I am hopeful that this will outast the origial wheelbarrow which was on its third replacement wheel!

    No More Flats

Every time I went to use my wheelbarrow, the tire was flat. This solid tire works great. I was afraid it wouldn’t fit, but it did, and with easy replacement. Comes with various sizes of spacers to assure good fit. I didn’t rate longevity, as haven’t had it that long, but I can’t imagine what could possibly go wrong w it due to duration.

Replaced both the tires on my wheel barrel with a pair of these no flat tires. Wished I had replaced them sooner. I can’t remember how many times I had to air up a tire before i could use it. Recommend this product.

    Great ROI

Put these on my old trusty Wheelbarrow! since they worked so well on my cart and WOW! what an improvement. Yeah – they cost more than a regular inflatable tire – BUT way worth the investment. I highly recommend these!

    Big Improvement Over Original Tire

It was my firs time to change the tire on a wheelbarrow, and it was super easy. I hope not to have to do it again anytime soon; this one is not filled with air, but it sold and should last a lot longer. The instructions were really easy, and now I just need it to be a few degrees warmer so I can get to work on the Spring landscape improvements.

Wish I had bought this sooner

My contractor wheelbarrow tires would never hold air. Even brand new tires would leak down between uses. I got tired of dragging out the compressor and air hose every time i needed to use the wheelbarrow. This unit fixed that issue. It only took a few minutes to remove the old wheel assembly and slide the new one in place. It comes with 5/8 and 3/4 inch bearings plus spacers to keep it centered on the axle. It rolls great and doesn’t make any noise.

    This will save your wheelbarrow

The former owners of my house left behind a red wheelbarrow with a bad wheel. So much depends upon a red wheelbarrow’s wheel. This wheel made the wheelbarrow just like new.

Maybe the last wheelbarrow wheel I’ll ever buy

I got this to replace the tube-style wheel on my wheelbarrow. I was surprised by all of the choices and sizes. My old tire had “4.00/4.80″ on it and an 8″ diameter hub so I thought this would fit. I did not want to mess around with another tube-style tire and worry about inflation, cracking, or maintenance and or only about $8 more I got this flat-free wheel.Installation for me was super straightforward, the old wheel came off with 4 bolts and the axle fit right into this wheel, the hole for the axle was exactly the same size. This wheel comes with a few different bushings intended for different hubs. This wheel has the same sized hub but the tire itself is a slightly lower diameter, about 1”, but this doesn’t cause any problem in the operation of the wheelbarrow.Overall a great buy, probably the last wheelbarrow wheel I’ll ever buy.

Replaced the Wheel – Kept an Old, but very well built Wheelbarrow

Excellent wheel. After some 30 years, the air filled wheel on my wheelbarrow went bad, so I replaced it with this product. It fit perfectly, and now I have a wheel that doesn’t require frequent filling with air like my old one did. The firm rubber tire is the way to go.I looked at buying a new wheelbarrow, but most are low quality in the smaller size I prefer. If you have an older wheelbarrow in good condition, I recommend just replacing the wheel/tire if it goes bad.

Great Wheel, very well made, heartily recommend.

It’s a wheel I would recommend to anyone. I found that the typical axle hole to be about 5/8ths of an inch, however, this company give you everything including two different sized (5/8 & 3/4) ball bearings, spacers, etc. I believe it’s everything you will need for an easy install with a great fit for most any kind of a wheel barrow wheel that I know of. No more annoying flats…

    No more flats for me!

My wheelbarrow is the one where you buy the pan, the wooden bars, and the wheel as separate pieces and assemble them at home I think I bought it at Lowe’s. It served for many years until I helper clean up from a roof tear-off at my home. Roofing nails and pneumatic tires don’t mix. I bought this replacement. The instructions are easy to follow. With the spacers that arrived with the tire, it fit perfectly. My grandchildren will be pushing that wheelbarrow along 50 years from now. I’m happy. My money was very well spent.

Shouldn’t have waited to fix my flat

After years of a slow leaking wheel, I tried to patch a tubeless and discovered dry rot. Replacing the whole shebang would have cost hundreds, so I thought a solid wheel under $50 was worth the try.I was expecting the ride of the solid wheel to be harsh, and it is when jumping concrete/solid edges, but that resilience limit comes with the territory. Otherwise, pushing it up hill is not compromised by low air resistance, I appreciate the less drag.Installation was pretty quick and easy, the hardware on the wheelbarrow was in good shape. I had a grease gun for the zirc fittings. It’s good to go, saving me lots of time pumping it up every day.Recommended Marathon to a neighbor that was running a flat tire into the ground, just like me.

    No More Flats!

This wheelbarrow tire worked great on my wheelbarrow. It was easy to install and I am a 67 yr old woman. I did grease axle after installing, should last a long time with no more flats. I have already used a lot hauling heavy bricks with no issues.

Swapped old tire for new in less than 5 minutes.

My old wheelbarrow tire went flat and would not hold air, so I decided to buy a flat-free tire. I was happy to see that the new tire had the feel of an inflated tire, which, when I squeezed it, there was a little “give”. Not a solid hard rubber, but a softer rubber that had a little give to it, just like an inflated tire. I was very impressed with the ease of installation, with a variety of spacers to use as needed.

On my 2nd one and still happy

I bought my first replacement wheel in 2018 and made it work hard for 5 years. This fall, the bearing went and pushing the wheelbarrow became difficult. It was great to still find the same product available at nearly the same price. Installation is easy, with a variety of spacers to make it work for your wheelbarrow. Now that I am older and have downsized to a smaller yard, I expect it will outlast me. Great value.

    worked great

I installed this on a two-wheeled wheel barrow. Wasn’t sure if it was going to fit but the adapter pieces included made it easy. Will get another for the other wheel when that one which is traditional air tire wears out. I go through a lot of tires on this wheel barrow as it is used daily to move heavy loads so hoping I won’t have to replace these any time soon.

SOME DETAILS OF HELP WHEN CHANGING FROM THE 1/2″ BEARINGS TO THE 3/4″ BEARINGS..

In a word,,”FANTASTIC !!! At last,, no more flats or tire repairs.. Could not ask for a better solution and a affordable price. Just (1) one little issue that buyer’s should be made aware of. These come to you with the 1/2″ axle bearings installed. Your going to have to switch them out with the 3/4″ one’s that come supplied with the tire/wheel. I started with a punch to drive out the first bearing. Then flipped the assembly over and used a 15/16″ deep socket to drive out the second bearing on the opposite side. To re-install the 3/4″ bearings, I found that a 1 1/8 socket fit the bearing cage perfectly on the edges and used that to seat them. I found that the bearings are not of any quality at all but went ahead and used them because the cart is very seldom even used. That being said, I did the best that I could to hand pack them with grease prior to their installation. Also, I had to use my die grinder with a stone, and grind out the interior of the hub, in order to camphor out the opening and to remove the paint from the insides but just the depth of the bearing cage. The 3/4″ cages are a bit too tight and removing a couple thousandths material will make this swap a whole lot easier for you. Be sure to put grease on the inside of the hub and pack the bearings prior to installing. I also found that when tightening the zirk fitting’s,, that they ended up pointing towards the rim thusly preventing you from being able to use your grease gun to lube the wheels occasionally, so I removed them and put some small fiber washers on them and re-installed them and now the zirks are pointed out and exact for servicing.. Hope this information will help everyone out a bit.. Cheers and Good Luck

    No more flat tires!

My wheelbarrow tire had a slow leak for most of the time I had it. Always had to pump it up before every use. Finally got tired of it and bought this guy. Swapped out in less than ten minutes, and no more flats. The outside of the tire is slightly spongy. It cushions things like a pneumatic tire would, although it adds a little rolling resistance, and it makes the tire feel like it needs a little more air for someone who doesn’t know about it.But it’s worth it for zero tire maintenance.

    Universal Fit Flat Free Tire

I am pleased with my purchase of the flat free tire. I have a wheelbarrow that has two wheels where one tire was cracked and would not hold air. I plan to buy a second flat free tire to replace the other tire. This Universal Fit tire worked great. The only thing I had to do was remove the barring’s from the old tire and put on the new tire because the barring’s supplied as a universal fit did not fit. I did need to look at the video to replace them and that info is supplied with the instructions. Easy to do.

    No more flats

Easy install and no more flat tires. I installed these on a small dump trailer that I pull with my riding mower. I have the larger axle, so I had to tap out the smaller bearing and insert the new ones. The small ones come out pretty easy, but the new ones are a little difficult to get in. Find a socket of the same size as the bearing to tap with a hammer. If not it will try to go in crooked.

Larger wheel hub, low profile tire.

Look at the picture again. The hub is larger, the wheel outside diameter is not 16″ like a wheelbarrow wheel. It is about 14″, which winds up about the same as an air tire compressed at the bottom to about an inch of compression. The wheelbarrow rides just as high off the ground despite the smaller tire because it is firmer, and with less rolling resistance is easier to push. But it looks a little funny, like a low profile hot rod wheelbarrow wheel. The hub is 3″ side to side, fits on a short axle on my ATV cart where the regular wheelbarrow wheels won’t. If you want to put a wheelbarrow wheel on a cart, it’s probably this one.

I like the feel of a inflatable tire on a wheelbarrow

I like the feel of a inflatable tire on a wheelbarrow, but I hate it when it goes flat. The wheel comes close to the feel, and I don’t have to worry about it going flat. The shims were good enough to center the wheel with about a 1/2″ total play on the axil – That is OK. The grease fitting had to oriented to use the grease gun on it, but it all worked out OK. I gave it grease till some stated coming out of the near bearing. I figure there must be enough in the center of the hub to work its way over to the far bearing. So far so good. There were 3/4″ bearing with it, in case I had a 3/4″ shaft.

    Great Permanent Replacement Tire

These tires were the exact same brand as Lowe’s carries but were $20 a tire cheaper. They were very easy to install and I used them on my wheelbarrow to haul 1/2 yard of stone and a 1/2 yard of dirt for my raised bed garden and they held up well.

    Good fit

This fit my wheelbarrow perfectly. I had to use the spacers that were already on my wheelbarrow as the ones with this packages were either too short or too long. Otherwise this was extremely easy to put on all by my self. And now i dont have to worry about a popped tire or inner tube or a lost pump.the tire is stiff so if it its a bumb it jostles anything in the barrow and doese not habe that “bounce” a traditional tire has.

    Excellent retrofit for my wheelbarrow.

Excellent retrofit for my wheelbarrow. It’s a bit narrower than the tubeless tire it replaced, but for my application, that’s not a problem. It comes with enough different spacers (and two sizes of bearings) that it probably will fit virtually any wheelbarrow. I wondered whether the lesser “spring” in a flat-free wheel (vs. a tubed or tubeless pneumatic) would be a negative. Actually, in my opinion, it’s not. Much of my use is for hauling bark mulch. With the more springy pneumatic wheel I once used, going over bumps tended to toss mulch out of the wheelbarrow (sort of like over-active shock absorbers). This doesn’t happen with the more rigid, flat-free tire — yet it’s not too rigid. Highly recommended.

Slightly expensive, but well worth it…Highly recommended!

This is a HUGE improvement over fighting flat tires on my wheel barrows. Invariably, when I want to use my wheelbarrow, the tire was flat…even after buying an expensive new inner tube for one of my wheels. Total disaster. This flat-free wheel works like a champ and rolls pretty much like the original air tire (when it was properly inflated). I’ve now replaced this wheel on both of my wheelbarrows. Also, although slightly larger diameter than my original wheels, it works fine. No noticeable difference.Bottom Line: Slightly expensive, but well worth it…Highly recommended!
