    Works well

I purchased this product because I had had back surgery and was unable to lift a large box of litter. To the normal person each container would not be heavy although I still found them to be but that’s due to my condition. The litter has good absorbency but I would say that the odor control is not quite as good as other products I’ve tried. Still, for one cat I think it’s fine.

    Good stuff

Pros : Definitely now DUST. Can’t taste the litter after cleaning three cat boxes. Used to put a mask on before at times. Cats don’t seem to mind how light it is.Cons : Sticks to there paws a bit and gets more on the carpet. I tend to vacuum every few days around the box area where the carpet starts. ANYWAY WELL WORTH IT.

My 3 GrandCats LUV this stuff and so does MOM!

I am the proud grandma of 3 beautiful BIG black babies. I live in the Northern part of the country and my babies live out West with my daughter (also beautiful, I might add:), and her handsome husband! When she told me that the Tidy Cat with Glade scent was the one litter that she loves because it knocks out odor like crazy, but it was a little hard to always find in her local store, Grandma had to kick into high gear and find it on-line so they would always have a good supply. I always go to this same seller because I know it will be delivered quickly. I guess about all I can say (since this IS litter after all, so I really do not have any first hand experience in actually using it!), is that my boys apparently Love it and so does my daughter. Many folks that visit her never know there are 3 cats in the house. That say’s it all! (Of course folks, I think you know you DO have to actually scoop the litter box out.. this is great litter but it does not clean itself.)

Good value absorbs smell good clumping –

This is not the best cat litter out there. But I think it’s might be the best bang for the buck. It’s a good value with strong odor control and clumping. Fresh step and a couple others may have better odor/clumping but costs more.Cat litter in Paraguay is horrible – don’t know what a great product American cat litter is until you can’t buy it.BTW- sometimes I buy other litters and use the empty container to blend litters. Can’t do that with those that come in cardboard box, which is more prone to spills/ tears etc. should get 1/2 star for the container.

This product is a great option if you’ve ever had problems lifting a heavy jug of litter to pour. It’s great at keeping odors to a minimum as well. The only downfall for me is that the fineness of this litter causes it to get stuck in my cat’s paws more than regular litter. He scratches the side of the box much more when I use this and is always picking at is paws to get it out. A good litter box mat is recommended.

    Doesn’t clump as well.

I have an automatic cleaning litter box and the rake sometimes has difficulty going through the litter. I decided to try the lightweight version of the litter I normally use to combat that issue. However, this litter doesn’t clump as well. It hasn’t turned to a solid clump by the time the rake goes through causing the clump to stick to the rake instead. This litter does help with the rake not being able to move. I’ll need to find a lightweight that clumps better.

    Great substitute for crystals

I bough an automatic cat litter box that uses crystals. If you have cats less than 10 – 12 lbs crystals are okay. I have three cats, one of which weights in at 20 lbs. He WOULD Not use the box with the crystals. This product is a great substitute. I didn’t want to try a clumping litter and I couldn’t find any other brand of non clumping litter, so Tidy Cat it is.

    Totally loving it so far!

Just received this tonight, so far so good! It smells really nice out of the box, and considering the size of the box it is very light. My cat hasnt used his box yet, as I just emptied all the old litter and put in a fresh set of liners and new litter. But while filling it I didn’t have an issue of excess dust like with other litters I’ve tried. I have a medium sized saucer litter box, single cat household, and it took a little more than half the container to completely fill his box. But there’s still a decent amount left to top it off in between cleanings. I have high hopes for this, as I can smell the fresh scent just being near the box. His litter was the petsmart brand, multi-cat fresh scent litter. It started off great, but even with daily cleanings it had the most putrid smell within a week. And it continously stuck to his toes and paw pads, so he was tracking the smell around the house with him, so awful. I’ll definitely update in a week or so to see if I have similar problems as the other reviewers with excessive dust, tracking, etc. 😺

    Crummy Packaging

I like the buckets but they’re more expensive now. The replacement cardboard boxes are harder to lift. And there are at least two types of boxes. One opens as usual along the top (as expected) and the other has a tear-off strip on three sides. If you get carried away with the tearing off the strip the whole top comes off. Not the end of the world but it’s not very…tidy.Yeah, I’m being picky but Purina is a major corporation and they didn’t just start making this stuff last week.Anyway, my cats don’t care so I’ve learned to live with it.

Litter box required a lot of litter weekly

My daughter’s cat stayed with me for around 7months. He had kidney issue stage 3.Based on illness a great deal of litter was required weekly. The large amount of litter was required weekly for he stayed inside my house during his stay.Much better to deliver this heavy box every other week due to his illness.

    Environmentally friendly!

Love that they’re sending this in a bag now and not wasting plastic or large cardboard boxes to hold the litter. I just pour it into my empty clean litter container.I only have one cat and I scoop his box daily. Our housekeeper assured me that she can’t smell the box, so I stick with this brand.I gave 4 stars because there was more very fine granules of litter — sand-like — in this bag than I’ve ever had with this brand. I hope they’re not using a lesser-quality litter in the bags. I’ll find out with my next purchase of the litter in a bag.

Clumps great, but you have to remember to add fresh litter regularly to replace the bentonite!

I have to wonder if there weren’t some issues with a production run that a few people have experienced. My wife and I have been using Tidy Cats’ clumping litter (3 or 4 different formulas) for probably 20 years with zero issues. We foster and rescue cats and currently have 15 full-time residents, half of which are indoor only. We learned a long time ago that cheaping out on the litter is a mistake. We have found Tidy Cats to be the most dust-free of the bunch, with excellent clumping. However, we do not use the standard litter pans most people have. We make our own covered pans out of large plastic storage bins with lids. I cut a round hole, slightly larger than our fattest fur-child, in the side or end – about 6 inches up the side. A full 27-lb. pail of Tidy Cats goes in each of the six containers we have in 3 different locations and they are all scooped twice a day. After that, we add a couple of measuring cups of fresh litter to each one every day or so and it keeps them working great. This is critical, as the clumping agent Bentonite is used up and must be replenished with fresh scoops. I wish I could buy a big pail of pure bentonite to add instead. We also sanitize the boxes and completely replace the litter periodically, but we only use an average of about three large pails a month total.

    Very Strong Smell

Ok, so theres no “kitty poo” smell in the house but there is a VERY VERY STRONG “kitty litter” smell. I guess you win some you lose some. I wish the smell wasn’t so strong but anything is better than a pee/poo smell. The cat took a few days to accept the change and had some accidents in the mean time. Given the price I’m happy enough that I made the switch even if the litter smell is kinda strong.

    Good litter for healthy poopers

Our cats (2) are healthy. In fact, one is so healthy – she grunts when doing the deed. Both will only eat urinary tract health cat food – so they urinate like well hydrated elephants. This litter does a good job of keeping the odors and it clump well. Better than most that we have tried.

Great for clumping and half the weight

This cat litter does an outstanding job at clumping the cat urine together and also keeping the feces covered. It works just as good as the litters that are not lightweight. This makes clean up and carrying these huge boxes so much easier. It also covers the smell for a long time before you notice any litter stench in the home, a life save for those of us in apartments. Definitely recommend for my fellow cat owners tired of bad litters.

    UPDATED JUN 2023: BETTER

UPDATE: Either I received a couple of bad batches noted in my previous review, or Tidy Cats has improved their mixture. MUCH LESS DUST in latest batch – and I now use a light water sprayer when I clean the litter boxes that helps any remaining dust. the BIGGEST PLUS for Tidy Cats is the LIGHT WEIGHT and EASY OPEN BOXES. I have arthritis so some of the litter is impossible for me to carry and open. And, with my 4 cats, I definitely DO need the LIGHT WEIGHT to maintain my 4 cat litter boxes.PREVIOUS REVIEW: My “cat box and storage room” with 4 litter boxes for my 4 cats HAS BECOME LAYERED WITH DUST ALL OVER ALL THE SHELVES AND FLOOR! I REALLY NEED a “LIGHT WEIGHT” litter at my age, and THIS choice USED to be the “LEAST WORST” in terms of Dust Clouds. BUT THE DUST HAS GOTTEN SO BAD THAT MY LUNGS GET SOME OF THE DUST CLOUDS each time I clean the cat box litter.IF ANYONE KNOWS of a LIGHT-WEIGHT LITTER that ACTUALLY IS “99%” DUST FREE, PLEASE LET US ALL KNOW.

I Am The Litter Cleaner, and I approve this product.

After using another brand of litter for 2 months, I switched to Tidy Cats 24/7 clumping litter and I am relieved that I found something that works well, convenient, and hassle free. The problems I was having with the other brand (Fresh Step).. Well easier to describe by listing1. It had a really strong smell that permeate through my home, but it didn’t disguise the smell of pee or poo. It literally carried the pee/poo smell with it. Even after cleaning the box the smell didn’t go away unless you cleaned it out completely by washing it.2. When clumped it would be a massive lump that either stuck to the bottom and or sides of the litter box like cement OR fell apart into crumbs.3. It would stick to the bottom of my cats paws.4. I went through a box of litter faster because of the clumping. Every other day I had to refill the litter box because of the huge clumps.Tidy cats 24/7 clumping1. As soon as I poured it in the box, the smell from the litter was gone. When I enter my home I’m not greeted with a wall of stink.2. Less liter is being tracked around because it doesn’t stick to the paws.3. The clumps are smaller and much easier to clean.4. I’m saving time and money with this product. I don’t have to refill as often and I don’t have to chisel the waste off the box.I’m not saying that the smell is eliminated completely, but it’s more tolerable on many levels. I’m not gagging when I’m cleaning it, and I don’t have to muscle the clumps out, sometimes causing particles to fling past the box perimeter. What more could you ask for?

I ordered SEPARATELY two 20 lb. what I thought were bags.

When they came they were left down in the mail room of my apt. Box marked “heavy” I am 4’11- 100 lbs..A man came and put them in a cart that I had . BUT when I got to my apt. I COULD NOT get them out..struggled..cut.. sawed. scissored finally I managed to tip the cart on its side..and with great effort, dumped them out. One carton I had sliced open and a lot went on the floor…The I could not lift the 20 pounds over to to the litter box..had to call someone for help …This whole episode took OVER and hour and I was exhausted..(I am partially disabled)..SOOOOO bottom line when I order BAGS.. I mean Bags, not white cartons…when I place to separate orders, I want tWO separate orders… I don’t think I misunderstood what I was doing when I ordered…but no matter what I will make it perfectly clear through customer service next time…

    Clumps and is Light

This is my cat’s favorite litter. Works well to eliminate odor, even with a cat who has kidney issues that produce a stronger ammonia smell. But what’s the nicest about it is it’s much lighter than regular litter, so easier to dump in and move the container around.

    It’s cat litter

Cheaper on here than in the big box stores. The cat litter does what it says. We have a Maine Coon breed of cat that’s on the large size so we like to use the multi cat litter. The litter does clump fairly well. Our cat has a tendency to go to the bathroom on the side of his litter box because he’s so big. This tends to make the number one run down the side of the litter box and puddle at the bottom leaving very wet clumps on the bottom.

Great litter, should be marked fragile?

This litter is great and holds in odors, which is very necessary for our 5 cats. The price is awesome as well. My only complaints: it takes forever to ship and the first delivery was not marked fragile so it was tossed around and beaten up so both tubs were cracked on top. We had to pour about half the litter back into the tube from the plastic bag and the box.

Great Cat Litter, But it Tracks a lot and Leaves Dust

I’m still amazed at how light this cat litter is. Cleaning the box is easy because the litter is so small that sifting is made much easier. In comparison to other litters I’ve used, the clumping is really strong. I rarely have times where it breaks, though if it does there isn’t as much residue leftover in comparison to other litters.I recently tried a natural cat litter and noticed that when the clumping fails/breaks then there is often a darker cat litter left in the box and it is impossible to clean out unless you clean out all the litter. This litter doesn’t do that, though I have noticed that it does track around the house a lot. Since the litter is so small it’s easily for it to get picked up by your cat’s paws and tracked all over. A mat in front of the litter box helps, but does not fully prevent this.Another thing I noticed is that this cat litter is sometimes hard to clean up if you have thicker carpeting. There is a lot of dust that comes with this litter, not as much as the original Tidy Cats version but still dust clouds up every time I clean it or put in more litter.

Light, fluffy, but too damp for our liking.

We move the litter box to the basement and appreciate the manageable weight of this size box. We switched from A&H clump and slide which we LOVED, but this light-weigh stuff is a pain to clean. It goes everywhere. Doesn’t really scoop well. We have a sifting type box and damp litter just falls right through. We waste so so much. It is good at suppressing odors though.

That you might get the wrong thing sent to you.

I like the product but I ordered 2 – 20lb. Jugs of litter and received one 14 lb. Jug….but was charged 32.00. This is so wrong. The reason I order this instead of going to a store to buy this is because I am crippled and it is very hard for me to get around. I am not able to go out and return this so now I am stuck with it and overpaid for it… NOT HAPPY.

    Bulk of a Deal

This is a great deal for overall pounds vs. cost. It is very difficult to use this bag to dump into a litter box, which at 40 pounds and in a bag, I anticipated as much. I used a plastic container to dump a good 1/4 – 1/3 of the bag into instead and closed and stored the rest in the bag for later use. My only complaint is the box/shipping. The box only had one piece of tape securing the box shut and with the weight of the bag inside, easily did not hold, making it impossible for transporting and delivering without damaging the box.

*I* liked it. My cat, however…

This stuff is great. I don’t kill my back bringing the boxes into the house, and it works well. Even the box design is nice – it’s easy to pour into the pan.It clumps better than any litter I’ve used before, and it has great odor control for the wee and the poos.I have one cat that didn’t like it (out of 4), and I can’t use it anymore. I would give this 5 stars, but I did think the scent was a bit overpowering. You walk in the house, and that’s the first thing you smell. I imagine the scent was why my one cat had issues with it.

    Best for smell control!

This is the best litter I have used. I love my cats, but hate the stink. I even have an air purifier by their litter box. I don’t want to smell anything & definitely don’t want guests coming in my house smelling anything!! This litter is great! It’s light weight and easy to scoop.I had cleaned my litter box and filled with a new box of my old litter I had left over. Within the day I could tell the difference. I scoop it out daily & it stunk within the first day. Even after scooping the stink lingered with my previous litter! Not with this! Really helps control odors between scooping. This litter does seem to stick to the paws a little more. But.. if smells your main issues, a little xtra sweeping is worth it!

Kitty and I Love this litter!

Ever since Tidy Cat came out with their LightWeight brand of cat litter, I have been in heaven. No more lugging heavy, cumbersome containers of litter from the store to the car, then the car to the house, then into the litter box and out of the litter box and into the garbage, and out to the dumpster, again, and again, and again…It clumps up beautifully, just like the heavy stuff. The litter box is easy and convenient to scoop out every day. Some people have complained about excessive dust, but I have not noticed any, at all. Others say it is small and easy to track throughout the house. Well, I do have to agree with that one, but only somewhat. All litter, no matter the type, gets tracked outside of the litter box. We purchased a large, rubber liner with little nooks and crannies for under the litter box, similar to

Petmate Litter Catcher Mat Extra Large, Grey

and it works really well to capture any stray litter (the mat comes in different sizes, and we actually have the blue-colored mat). About twice a week I sweep the area outside of that liner and the house stays clean and litter free (except for where it is supposed to be!).Thank you, Tidy Cat, for creating this light weight litter. I have been using this style for almost 6 months, now. I will never go back to the heavy stuff.

Very close to a great cat litter

This is very close to a great cat litter. It clumps. Which is should. And it actually does absorb litter box odors close to completely. Tidy Cats is a reliable brand, so that is not surprising. Downside? Clumped litter sometimes sticks to the bottom of the litter box and needs to be scraped up. It tracks outside of the box (and the pellets are not fine sand, but hard like little bb’s– especially if you’re barefoot or just wearing socks!); recommend a cat litter mat! But all things considered, this is a very good cat litter, almost, but not quite great. If possible, I’d give it 4-1/2 stars.

Super lightweight, clean scooping, and fresh scent!

I decided to try this lightweight litter because I’ve been suffering from arthritis and/or carpal tunnel pain in my wrists which makes scooping heavy, sticky, clumpy clay litter pretty difficult. I must say that I have been extremely impressed by this litter, and honestly never thought I’d be excited about a cat litter ever in my entire life, but here we are, folks! This litter is the BEST if you struggle with regular litters like I do. It is so lightweight compared to regular litter, it clumps well and scoops cleanly and doesn’t stick to the sides and bottom of the litter box like regular litter does either. It has made scooping litter for three kitties bearable, painfree, and much quicker than before. The odor control is pretty good, too, I haven’t had any issues with it stinking up the house at all. If I smell it when I go into the laundry room (close to the litter box and not even very strong smell), I know it’s time to scoop, so it’s a good reminder. So overall, I love this litter and I’m so glad I decided to try it! I may never go back. It’s definitely worth the extra bit of cost, and I have a feeling this one container will last me at least as long (about a month with three kitties) as my old 40 pounder bag I was buying for years.I’ll update if I discover anything that changes my rating, but so far, I’m very pleased with this product!

I’m very happy with this product

I switched from the heavy weight litter a few months back when I was kind of forced to buy the lightweight when they were out of the regular. I’m happy with how when scooping it doesn’t weigh a ton and it’s not weighted down from the heaviness of the litter. Even when it’s wet it’s still lightweight. The only problem is that it being so lightweight that it sticks to their paws and goes all over the house. You have to sweep and vacuum every single day or you’ll have a mess..I changed the type of box from low walls to a much higher wall and it’s a little better but I don’t think there’s anything you can do to prevent litter from.sticking to their paws.

Absorbs odor and is not dusty

This is the best litter and my cat has no problems using it. Someone gave me another brand last month to try and I ended up taking my cat to the Veterinarian because it caused him to cough and sneeze. After changing back to his litter and on medication for two weeks he is fine.

    Great product, horrible packaging

Over these last few months I have decided to switch my cats litter to tidy cats lightweight litter I find it much easier to clean than regular litter even if it is a little bit more expensive. I have been buying from Walmart and there the litter comes in a plastic bin which makes it very easy to pour into the litter box. I have never gotten litter delivered in a box like this before. It was very difficult to open and pouring the litter into the litter boxes was also a hassle I had to make sure none of it would get on the ground. Other then that the litter makes my life a lot easier I just had a problem with the packaging.

New “easy pour” bag-in-a-box packaging is awful!

I really have no problem with the product itself, but the new packaging is ridiculous! When the box arrived, I noticed that it now has handles, which is a nice improvement. Printed on the box is an announcement of a new “easy pour” bag. Instructions on the box say to pull off the perforated top and pour the litter from the bag. On close examination of the box, I found no perforations, so I opened the top of the box using a box cutter where the box said OPEN HERE in large letters. At this point, I thought maybe the “perforated top” referred to on the outside of the box might have meant the bag had a perforated top. But alas, no perforations, just a partially sealed plastic bag. So I pulled open a corner of the bag, picked up the box, and attempted to pour litter from the plastic bag into the litter box. The plastic bag promptly slid out of the cardboard box spilling litter all over my floor. UGH! With the old packaging, all I needed to do was open the box and pour the litter into the litter box. They need to get rid of the stupid, unnecessary plastic bag!

    Makes job easier

Lighter clumps makes carrying out easier as well as carrying box in.Clumps tighter than tidy cat so lose less when scooping. This means loose less from litter pan when shifting.Changed 2 of 3 litter boxes from tidy cat as trial. No issues so converted 3rd box.My 3 cats are ok with change.Better clumping helps to use less litter helping offset higher cost. Easier sifting and less to carry to trash make it worth it for me.

    Better buy a chainsaw!

Love the litter, HATE the box!!! There is no easy-opening access. Unless you have a chainsaw be prepared to spend a fair amount of time trying to get it open! If you have any physical disabilities, weakness in the hands, bad back, don’t even try it, get someone else to open it for your. Luckily I saved the last pail I had and poured the litter in there once I finally got the box open. I will not be buying the box again! The pail can be problematic in and of itself as when it’s full it can be a little difficult to keep the flap open and pour, but it’s 1000% easier to get into than that box!

    Better than I hoped

When my boyfriend and I adopted our first cat we started using pellet litter, and to be blunt it was TERRIBLE. the pellets did no help when it came stool, it gave my cat a hard time when he tried covering up in waste, and was just extremely dirty no matter how much we cleaned it. Finally I ordered a classic litter box and this litter. It’s been a life saver!!!! our cat is having a much easier time covering his waste, its easy to clean, and clumps great (our cat is constantly having the runs so this litter clumps it up really well.) We now have a new kitten who uses it also and I don’t plan on switching anytime soon!

Not quite perfect, but a winner still……..

I have three cats and I have tried almost every commercial litter on the market (Fresh Step, Scoop Away, etc.) and I always seem to come back to Tidy Cat. It is the best Value for money and it does the job in my home. I gave it four stars instead of five because at times when I am scooping the clumps fall apart which is annoying because the urine “clump” then spreads all over the litter box and it breaks into such small pieces that it goes right through the scoop. I feel that I have to make more total litter changes because of this. Like I said earlier, as far as value for money Tidy Cat is the one I would recommend.

A great litter for the price.

Part of the reason that I order my kitty litter online, is because of how heavy it is; and I have to say, how happily, surprised I was, at how much lighter, and easier to carry, this litter really is. I have three cats, and one bucket gets me through an entire month, without having to buy more kitty litter. I love the fresh scent and it controls odor really well. Although, I have to admit, it’s not the best litter, I’ve ever used; it tends to stick together, in much bigger clumps than I would like, as well as to the bottom of the litter box; So, it can be tough to clean out; but for the price, you really can’t beat it.

    Great product. Worst packaging ever!

Brand is great. Litter is great. Packaging not so great!!! It comes in a cardboard box. It got wet when delivered. So when I picked up the box, it ripped open and litter spilt out everywhere!!!!!!!! Now I only have half (or less) of its contents to actually use. Better to just go to the local store to buy it in the plastic jug with handle.

    Impossible to pour

The litter itself is great, but there’s no convenient way to pour the litter. The litter is in a plastic bag inside a massive, heavy cardboard box. It says you can fit the open bag around the box edges, but the way the bag is sealed, there’s no way to do that. You just have to tear a rip in the bag and lift the whole box and kinda guide the bag at the same time to avoid spilling. It makes it really annoying to refill the litter box.

This is my absolute favorite liter! I have two cats and this is …

This is my absolute favorite liter! I have two cats and this is the liter I started out with. Due to the price, I tried a couple of other common brands and there’s simply no comparison. I even switched to Dr. Elsey’s Precious Cat Ultra Climping Litter for a while because it was not only cheaper, but had better reviews than this one. Every other kind of litter I have tried stuck so hard to the bottom (no matter how deep the litter was) that I’ve broken multiple scoops. I don’t have that problem with this litter, even if I have it less than an inch deep. This litter also contains the odor better than any other brand I’ve tried. It clumps the best too and is virtually dust free. The only down side is the price, which is why I can’t give it 5 stars.

    Definitely lighter

Update: a few more observations. This litter is mostly gray, but has blue bits in it. It slightly stained the bottom of my cat’s rear paws. Had my vet going there. If you don’t dump out your entire litterbox frequently, there will be a lot of litter dust. This is by far the biggest disadvantage for me.—–This weighs about half as much as regular clumping clay litter (for the same volume). It clumps well enough. Since it’s lighter, more of it gets tracked around my apartment. Purina says 17 lb is equal to 35 lb of regular litter, but 17 lb is probably closer to 31 lb of usable litter because more of it is lost. The pail is hard to open. The pull tab is stiff, and I needed a cloth to avoid cutting my fingers while pulling the tab open. Once open, the pail is much easier to use than a regular box of litter. The handle is round and fairly thick–it won’t cut into my fingers the way the plastic strip handles on some boxes of litter do.As for being dust-free, that depends on your definition of dust. The dust in this litter is not fine enough to float in the air. It still gets tracked all over the floor. If you don’t dump out your entire litter box frequently, the litter eventually gets ground into airborne dust.It comes in other size jugs and pails, which is nice. If I accidentally run out of litter, I can grab a smaller jug from a nearby supermarket instead of waiting two days for delivery, and it won’t be that heavy.Good odor control. I only notice any odor for 1-2 minutes after a cat uses the litter box, and only if I’m in the same room. The rest of the time, I don’t smell anything.

Much easier, but beware of tracking!

This lightweight litter makes cleaning the litter box easier. We all think about how much that tub of fresh litter weighs, but the same is true for the output! Having lightweight litter makes the scraping and toting of used litter less of a chore. The clumping power is also much stronger than with regular litter. I would note, however, that the lightweight litter tracks HORRIBLY. We find litter everywhere around the house, even far distances away from the litter box. We often mix this with a regular weight litter in order to balance the ease and clumping of the lightweight with the low-tracking of regular weight litter.

I tried many brands and types of litter before I decided this was my favorite. It is just the right size and weight for my cats. It tracks less and doesn’t stick in between their toes, They don’t throw it all over the floor like they do some lightweight brands of litter. It doesn’t leave dust like most of the others do. It’s perfect. It doesn’t make the cats sneeze either. I have 5 cats , all neutered. 3 girls and 2 boys, ranging in weight and size from 6lbs, mix american shorthair, 2, female 11 & 13 lb Maincoon mix, a 17 lb Siamese and American shorthair mix, male to a 27lb Norweigan Forest Cat, that has to have an especially large litter box. I have two especially large boxes for the two large males. That pretty much covers a lot of personalities and sizes of cats. They range in ages from 3 years to 13yrs old. All totally indoors.

    Best litter ever.

I have been buying litter for fifty years. I am very diligent to have a cat odorless house.I have had multiple cats off and on and paid a small fortune. This litter is the best I have ever used for odor, clumping and good results at any price. However, the price is the best. I couldn’t believe it.Trust me, I’m a cat litter expert with a nose like a houndand would pay whatever it takes because it is that important to me. This happens to be reasonable in price which meant a lot to me. I don’t have to sacrifice food for good litter. To me this was a real find. You’ll like it too if either price or good litter are important to you. It hits both high notes exceptionally well.I want to add one thing. Good litter does not mean you don’t have to clean it on a regular basis. I clean mine every morning. It’s a habit.Good litter just maintains odors for a while, not forever.

I love the Tidy Cats brand. It’s always worked so well & it’s hard to detect that there’s even a litter box in the room! But, I think since this version is so “lightweight” it just kind of creates this powder in the air (like a cloud) whenever my cat finishes using the litter box. We have a love hate relationship with this litter.

I’ve use Tidy cats for the last year; I’d try other brands of clay litter and they didn’t seem to cast as long as tidy cat (I try and scoop daily, sometimes every other day) and dump and start fresh when needed… with other liters when needed was often bc they couldn’t contain the smell. Tidy cat we could replenish litter and avoid a full dumping and starting over longer. What I hate about it… (and I just realized it’s not advertised on this particular package) is the tracking…. we have cat boxes with a littler catcher outside them and in a room of carpet, but we still manage to get litter on our non carpeted floor. Also, I don’t love clay litter, scooping isn’t as easy as I would prefer.I did try changing littler types recently to worlds best litter bc I read it was easier to scoop and less tracking… and though it was great for me….. one of my cats hated it and he starting peeing around the house (something he has never done before) so….back to tidy cats we go.

4 stars because of the “better scented” nonsense

I’ve used Tidy Cats brand (clumping and non clumping) for years. It’s cheap and it’s relatively not as dusty compared to other brands. The dust isn’t so much a problem for me as it is for my asthmatic cat and this suits her well. I think all of the types of Tidy Cat work in relative similarity. I don’t notice any difference between Multi Cat and Glade. They do their job and keep odor subdued as long as you do your job as an owner and clean the box as needed. 4 stars because the price keeps going up for all of the specialty products within Tidy Cat but with no true difference in functionality. I don’t notice any lighter or stronger of a Glade smell when fresh out of the bag or having been used and “activated”. Since there is no difference I go with the cheapest product at the time of purchase. Sometimes it’s this, many times it’s not. But in the end I know I’m getting a product I like that does it’s job.

I only use this litter for my kitty. I love the scent and it hides odors so well that guests can’t smell the litter box. I don’t have to constantly spray glade or melt scented wax cubes to hide the odor. I just keep her litter clean and it does the rest of the work. This product used to come inside of a box, now it comes in a bag inside of a box. Great Litter, Soft Scent

We have been buying lightweight cat litter for over 5 years. The absorbency is perfect and the litter hides smells instantly (our litter is in a nook in our kitchen and you would never guess). I prefer the blue glade version over the purple as that litter smells strong n doesn’t dissipate.I gave 4 stars because my litter came with a corner of the lid popped off so some of the litter spilled out during shipment. While it wasn’t a lot, it was enough to hurt seeing as how it’s almost $20 and with 2 cats I go through it quick.Overall though great product n definitely recommend.

Unwieldy box with no handles – and a lot of extra packaging waste

I know the description says it comes in a box, but if you’re used to buying this 17.5 lb size litter at the store, be aware this does *not* come in the plastic bucket with handle, just a chunky cardboard box with *no* handles, and the litter is loose inside (no plastic bag or anything). That means once you pull the tab to open it, you will have a flappy lid on an open box of loose litter. Also, I ordered 2 boxes which came in a giant cardboard shipping box with a large amount of packing paper inside, so it’s an unwieldy 35 lb package to move until you open it to try to manhandle the smaller-yet-still-heavy cubes of litter inside, and you are left with a lot of packaging material. I’ll need to re-evaluate if this is actually a more convenient/less wasteful option than continuing to get the plastic buckets at the store.

    Great litter, great value!

I usually buy Arm & Hammer lightweight but it’s kinda expensive. I love lightweight litter as it really doesn’t track or have dust. I’m pleasantly pleased with this new litter as it actually clumps better than my other one but it does track a tiny bit but not anything compared to regular cat litter. We use lightweight because it is dust free and my cat was constantly getting UTIs it was bad and that’s from the dust flying up and irritating him. He no longer has that problem. This litter comes in a plastic bucket which is nice. I recommend this it’s a great litter and a great price.

    New packaging , YIKES!

I was startled when my order arrived. The pacakagong has chanoto a cardboard box box with zip strip opening on one side. Very hard to handle. Pouring liter into car box was so messy. And there no reseal or closure so storage is difficult I don’t know who thought this was a good idea, but I do not

It does a good job clumping up the urine etc.

I like this product. I like how it covers up good in the litter box and how easy it is to dip out after the cat has used the litter box. The box was left on my front porch with no roof and part of it was wet from the rain. This is uncalled for because I have a carport with a roof and a little porch on it. This is not the first time this has happened.

    Overall lovely

Almost perfect. My only negative is when you pour it in the litter box there’s A LOT of dust… fortunately it clumps well and is very great and blocking odor. Almost always smells good unless my cat plots revenge and leaves an uncovered turd. Then that uncovered turd lets it’s wrath fill my bedroom with stank. Overall love this stuff almost as much as my cat.Ps: the weight is makes it easy to handle even while full too!

Easy to lift and easy for your cat to track everywhere

With my low upper body strength, I was excited to get lightweight cat litter. For the first time, I could lift it myself without enlisting a stronger friend to help. Once I added the litter to my cat’s litterbox, it did a great job of eliminating odors with a light floral scent. Unfortunately, since the litter was lightweight, it bounced out of the box in handfuls every time my cat used it. This forced me to switch litters to a heavier choice. If I couldn’t lift any litter containers, though, I’d get this one and plan to sweep more often.

Changed my life – Smells fantastic, super absorbent

My husband had been in charge of buying litter for our two cats, and had been getting non-clumping litter. With me being the one cleaning the litter box, that was a pain in the behind since there was no way to remove the *ahem* liquid waste products, other than just dumping out all the litter. Which I’m pretty sure everyone agrees isn’t a practical option to do every time a cat “goes”. So I promoted myself to being in charge of litter purchases and ordered this Purina lightweight litter, since not only was it a clumping litter which makes it super convenient to remove liquid waste easily, but I was also sick of having to lug around and store big bags of heavy litter. This litter is fantastic – I’m really surprised at how happy and pleased I can be about something like cat litter. This clumps really well and almost instantly, so all waste can be removed to have a fresh, clean litter box and nothing to leave any odors. But, I’m sure here wouldn’t be odors anyways because THIS STUFF SMELLS SO GREAT! The addition of the Glade scents is so fresh and definitely covers any odor that there may be. It’s not an overwhelming scent, but you can certainly notice it and it just makes the room smell clean and fresh. You’d think there was an air freshener rather than a litter box in the room. The kicker is that it’s lightweight, but packs a punch in how much it can hold. This definitely makes it easier on storage since it takes up less space, it’s much easier to carry around, and no more lugging heavy bags of “used” litter out to the garbage. But just because it’s lighter doesn’t mean you’re missing out on anything, since it can absorb about twice it’s weight/is comparable to using twice as much non-clumping litter. As silly as it sounds, it’s safe to say this litter has changed my life for the better. Less fuss, less mess, and less smell.

Love it Except Not Crazy About Litter Container.

I actually love this litter! It absorbs well and cleans well. I use different cheaper litters. This one is slightly more expensive for my budget. So I buy it sparely. But if given a choice, I would prefer this Purina litter. I was skeptical in terms of absorption. Turns out. It works well. So would like to get more. So I have been using this litter for months now. I do like it, but I do not like the container it came in. I would throw the plastic container in recycle bin but does add up. Therefore, I have stopped buying this litter. For this, I have decided to downgrade my rating to 4 stars. Think it be more convenient if container is not as bulky.

Hooray for Tidy Cats Multiple Clumping Litter

I very much like the Tidy Cats Clumping Litter for Multiple cats. Sometimes it does not clump especially when it is up against the plastic liner in the box. I have to pull the urine that is trying to clump away from the liner and sprinkle a little litter on it. Then it will clump up so I can remove it from the box. Other than that I like this litter. I have four cats – 3 in the house 24 hours a day and one in and out. They appear to like it. It they do not like litter they will refuse to go in the box and do their business on the outside of the box. That is how I know they like Tidy Cats Cat Litter!!!

    Easy to handle

I have a bad back and have been lugging heavy containers of litter for too long. This lightweight litter makes that job so much easier. My only issue with this product is the price. I do not see why it must cost so much more than the same amount of litter that is heavier. I am guessing that once everyone expects litter to be lighter, the price will go down.

Best cat litter I have found !!

Great cat little! Clumps up but does not stick to the bottom. Changing litter is so much simpler with it not sticking to the bottom or sides. Last longer then most litter I would say about a week and a half before needing to completely clean out. Best part is this does not make everything super dusty in the house. Highly recommend

    My Favorite Litter

I went through a bunch of different brands and types of litter trying to find one that worked for my cats and my life style….this brand ended up being the best one…and I only tried to because I was lazy. I was buying another type of Tidy Cats litter and was happy with it, but not blown out of the water with it. One day I needed more littler and didn’t have time to make it to my usual store, and this was the closest type and it was free shipping and a little cheaper than what I had been paying. This is now, my normal litter. I have 3 cat currently (and even when I had 4), this litter would hold up to their use, and my cleaning the littler every few days this little clumped better than previous littler and held the smell from the cats better. I use this type in one litterbox and a different crystal type in another…the cats seem to prefer using this litterbox first, and then use the other after.

What I like is the size option of three 14 lb. jugs. I can open it on the front porch where they leave the package and lift out one at a time into the house . So if you have lifting issues you may want to look at this option . This is in regards to the size of the product not the product itself. The product itself is OK , however I prefer others over it.

    Just okay

I like that the box is lighter to carry than most, but the litter doesn’t clump very hard. The urine collects in the bottom of the pan and begins to smell before the end of a week. I need a harder clumping litter that holds the urine better.

    Overly scented

This product doesn’t say it’s unscented but it also doesn’t advertise as Glade scented either. But holy cow, it is powerfully scented. As in, the boxes will live in the garage for a month before even being opened to use inside. Do not order this one if you are sensitive to (overpowering) fragrance.

    Never again

We normally use Fresh Step. But due to production disruption (cyber attack), we bought this litter in the meantime. Not our favorite. The clumping was good and lasted a long time in our 1-cat household. But:1. The bottom of the bag inside the box had a large hole. The litter ended up at the bottom of the box and made a mess on the floor since it came out from the bottom.2. Order control is not great. We had to but Arm & Hammer litter deodorizer to add for order control.3. Litter tracked everywhere. It easily stuck to my cat’s paws and he tracked it everywhere in the house, including his cat bed, blankets, and our bed. I have to vacuum daily his litter tracks and clean his paws. We don’t have this problem with Fresh Step.

This is actually light weight!! (Unlike other litters that claim to be lightweight, but way a ton)

It is more expensive, but the fact that it is so lightweight and works so well that it is worth it. I guess it being so good is why it is out of stock a lot, but since I signed up for scheduled deliveries I get it when I need it. Best litter I have tried in a long, long time!

Light weight but doesn’t cut it with the odors

This litter is definitely light weight. You won’t struggle lifting the box. But I was disappointed with it saying that it holds away odors for up to 14 days. That’s not true. I change the litter in my cat’s litter box twice a day. The smell does not get contained. I have to mix in a scent blocker with the litter.

    Great substitute for crystals

I bough an automatic cat litter box that uses crystals. If you have cats less than 10 – 12 lbs crystals are okay. I have three cats, one of which weights in at 20 lbs.
