I have used almost every litter from dirt cheap to super expensive and this is just the best litter. It literally masks odor for over a week. Sometimes it does it so well I forget to scoop. Scent overpowers kitty odors
Clumps well, and the kitty box smells like perfume, not poo… The Febreeze/Gain scent in Fresh Step can actually be a little too strong though. The only thing is that if your coat of litter is too shallow, it sticks to the bottom of the box and gets harder to clean. My 1.5 year-old kitty needs at least 4 inches deep across the whole box so it doesn’t turn into glue/cement at the bottom. Do NOT flush even a little speck of this stuff down a toilet! You’d be surprised at how less than ¼ teaspoon of this litter will clog up all your plumbing.

This is my second favorite (but easiest to find) litter
I’ve been buying this littler for many years, and it gets the job done. It’s dusty just like every other low-dust cat litter is, but I’m not that bothered by it. It absorbs odors well as long as you clean the litter box every day or two, and the scent is pleasant enough. Based on price and performance, it’s easy to recommend this litter unless you specifically don’t want a clay litter.

My Go-to brand
I have 3 cats so number one on my list was finding a cat litter that keeps the odor down AND isnt too much of a mess to clean. This brand does both pretty well. My only problem is the fine grains gets out the litter box in excess- which is to be expected for this type of cat liter to be honest. So I would definitely recommend you use with a mat for easy cleanup.

Practically dust-free, bad tracking
This is my first cat litter, I’m pretty happy with how dust-free it is and how well it clumps. I usually leave it for at least half to one day before scooping though and it comes out solid. The only downside is I really hate how badly it tracks and the I’m not a huge fan of the scent but that’s a personal thing – I think I’ve just been traumatized being at other people’s homes who didn’t clean their cat litter often and they had this same scent of litter lol.

I love this litter! It smells divine and keeps the “gifts” my kitties leave me from stinking up the whole house. My one caveat – this litter should be mixed into plain, unscented litter (1 part this, 3-4 unscented litter) as the fragrance can be overwhelming if you fill the box with just this.

Just got a cat & was looking to find our “normal” litter. The price 1st caught my attention and the promise of not smelling the cat waste made it worth the purchase.PROS: This is a very affordable product. Performs well. Definitely covers up the scent of cat waste (urine and fecal waste). Package is easy to open and dispense. The product clumps up the urine great! (This is the huge factor in continuing use.) Easy to scoop the waste out and not drop the litter on when emptying. Not a very dusty, which is also greatly appreciated.CONS: While we like the scent of Febreze on clothes and furniture, we do not like the scent of this product. Not really “Febreze” scent but more of a baking soda scent. However, it is very overpowering in the utility room where we keep the litter box. If we continue to use this product, we will seek out an air freshener to cover up the litter box scent.We aren’t sold on this product but it is pretty good except for the overpowering scent. May or may not repurchase.

Didnt think brand mattered… until I got something different
I typically think that most brands like this are relatively the same. I have been buying fresh step for years, just out of familiarity. Last week I went to buy some more litter, and went to Petsmart. They were out. Petco was like… half a mile down the road but I was already there and didnt really want to go to a different store so I started looking at what they did have. I ended up choosing Arm and Hammer ‘Forever Fresh’I am so disappointed, and so surprised with how different the brands work.I pick up my cat and he smells, I walk near the litter (which is in an enclosed cabinet) and I smell it…Never again, Ill stick with what I know works! I love this cat letter cuz it clumps so easy so it’s really easy to clean the litter box. My cat seems to like it – except it seems to get stuck in her paws after using the litter box cuz she crapes the sides of the litter box with her paws. I think to get the litter out from them. Idk. This litter is the best and people that come into our home that aren’t used to the scents in our home are the best folks to ask about litter box odor! I have YET to have anyone tell me that our house stinks like cat box! I have used the other stuff in the past only to just hate it and I finally found this and it’s like a miracle! I do not need to but I also use regular baking soda just for back up, but even with out it, it’s fine, it’s just what I prefer.

I really love this cat litter, even though most clay cat litters, do you have dust? It really does not bother me in my household. The dust is as regular as any other cat litter if you’re pouring from a pie so the key for it to be dust free is the poor love to avoid it And don’t complain about it being just because it’s clay. I feel clay cat litter like this is the only one that really works as far as the smell and clumping everything other is a good runner-up, but clay litter will always be the number one choice for a lot of pet owners and the smell is great. The tracking is as normal as you can get for a clay cat litter but as long as you have something under the litter box, then you will be fine , unfortunately there is no way to reduce the tracking from a cat because they have to sit in the litter to use the bathroom so I think as a pet owner you just have to suck it up and sweep what you can and buy a man that allows the litter to drop in the man there’s pros and cons to having a cat so clay litter is what I will always good, but this one is great. I love it in the smell is amazing. I don’t smell in a urine or smell any poop within the house and that’s the number one thing that I Like

I had previously used this brand and product a couple of years ago but had switched to another brand in between. However, this month I decided to switch back to this cat litter for a few reasons. Firstly, it is incredibly affordable compared to other options on the market. Secondly, it excels in absorbing odors, keeping my home smelling fresh and clean.While it is still a good product overall, there is one minor setback. Unfortunately, my cat doesn’t seem to prefer using this particular litter. Despite that, I appreciate the value for money and the effectiveness in odor control.In summary, if you’re looking for an affordable cat litter that does an excellent job in eliminating odors, this product is definitely worth considering. Although my cat doesn’t favor it, it still remains a solid choice for many cat owners.

Boxes out there & with 2 cats 1 being elder a 14 lbs box doesn’t get me far !!I’d like to see more 25 lbs. Boxes of litter it would help deeply..The fresh step gain is super ,fresh step Extreme is super & I can’t seem to catch a break with 25 lbs boxes anymore!!!As well as I don’t get why it’s suddenly become so freaking expensive to purchase a 25 lbs box of litter !!!If people pet owners are used to Fresh Step Litter for their pets and it works why ruin a good thing ? You would get more customers buying fresh step 25 lbs for reasonable price as opposed to 14vlbs which don’t do much for 2 cats 1 being elder !!Like get it together please for the desperate customers out here … You def need to carry more 25 lbs boxes of fresh step and not charge an arm & leg !!!It would greatly be appreciated it !!!

Smell last for awhile
Let’s just say, for those who can’t clean your litter box daily, the freshness last a long time. I have been using this litter for my cat for awhile and never have issues with a smelly box. Haven’t had any complaints from my cat either.

I will never use another cat liter!
This litter is the best and people that come into our home that aren’t used to the scents in our home are the best folks to ask about litter box odor! I have YET to have anyone tell me that our house stinks like cat box! I have used the other stuff in the past only to just hate it and I finally found this and it’s like a miracle! I do not need to but I also use regular baking soda just for back up, but even with out it, it’s fine, it’s just what I prefer.

My human does a good job
The human man changes the litter each week. The litter feels good under my laws and I can bury my poo easily. The small human also says the scent smells good. My only wish is that he’d change the litter more often.

With 2 cats, it never got stinky and the fabreeze scent didn’t overpower or scare the cats away from using it. Just with there was more per box, but not more in price.

1st. I have a litter robot, which you need a scoopable litter for. When I tell you I have tried them ALL, I mean it.. Fresh Step is hands down the best scoop litter there is, even the unscented is superior. You can also sign up for Paw points rewards, which gives you coupons.. I have 3 cats and go through alot of litter, any discount helps! I ran out and went to the store to get this after forgetting to change my subscription credit card when I got a new one. The store didn’t have this brand and I had to get another, that was more expensive. The smell was bad…I love cats but I cannot stand litter smells. (Who can?) Fresh Step is the only one that hides litter smells. I won’t go without it again!

I have two cats, so this is an on going problem with quality liter. This liter does absorb but leaves the bottom of the pan moist. This makes the smell bad and cleaning a little messy. It was average based on the cost. It was convenient to have delivered. I would buy again for the cost, just be sure to clean often especially if you have multiple cats.
