Can cut almost any branch. Leverage is an amazing thing. Physics. Not just a good idea, it’s the law.

Fiskars literally cannot make a low quality product. You just can’t go wrong with them.

Love the powerful cutting, just wish I had purchased a jaw that opened wider for better indexing on branches.

It cuts through limbs easily. It is pretty heavy, so it takes some effort if you’re cutting limbs overhead.

Actually cuts through ultra-hard fossilized branches up to 2 inch – at least while it is still new.PROI was able to cut through a 2-inch diameter dead arm of a cactus. Dead cactus is hard – not unlike dead hardwood branches. It can cut live tree branches up to 2-inch diameter with ease.So far no material segments get stuck in the jaws.Test of time is unknown – How long will the jaws remain sufficiently sharp to cut 2-inch hardwood? How long will the jaws remain free of material that causes jams?CONThe arms must be opened nearly 180 degrees so the jaws fit around a 2-inch branch. That requires getting up close to that branch – frequently with a ladder. The need to open jaws almost 180 degrees is a result of gearing in the jaws. That gearing provides much greater leverage for cutting hard wood but requires the 180 degree opening. In some cases there are other branches in the way of opening the jaws 180 degrees. That means cutting those branches first, even if I would prefer to keep those other branches intact.I will keep my older tree trimmer to cut branches up to 1 inch and use this Looper to cut larger branches.

Heavier than I expected, and the angle you need to approach the branch made it difficult for me to use. You need to open it up so wide that it’s hard to get to the trunk and cut a branch close. Would be ok on a less dense tree. I’m tackling mulberries. My height doesn’t help – 5’1”. My husband was able to muscle through and he likes it, so we’re keeping. I won’t be using it and I don’t recommend for any small person. Big people, have a go at it!

Only time will tell if these hold up, but they definitely cut through branches cleanly and with little effort. They feel solid when cutting but are light enough to maneuver easily. I’m happy with my purchase.

I bought these after my 28″ Fiskars loppers broke after using just a few times. These seem much heavier than the old Fiskars, even though they weigh less than a pound more. The most frustrating thing, though, is when I’m cutting blackberries along my fence line, weeds continually get caught in the power gear and I have to stop and pull them out. I think these should have been better field tested.
