Seems great and dog likes it!

Bought this in hopes to help our 6 yr old female English Bulldog prevent UTI’s/Bladder Infections. Although I can’t say it cured her, she seems to enjoy it and heard probiotics are good for the digestive system so we give her a pack or two of these each week mixed into her meals. It’s cheaper to get a 3 pack though found here:

3 Pack FortiFlora CANINE Nutritional Supplement by Purina Box of 30 (1 gram packets)

What cured our dog from ever getting UTI’s/Bladder infections was giving her cranberry tablets with DMannose. We now give her 1 tablet broken into her breakfast and 1 tablet broken into her dinner and UTI’s/Bladder infection has not returned yet.You can find the tablets here:

Cranberry DMannose Urinary Tract Support (60 Tabs)

or it’s cheaper to buy in larger quantity found here

3 PACK Cranberry DMannose Urinary Tract Support (180 Tabs)

We also did buy brand new stainless steel bowls since our old ones started to get rust spots which may have helped, I recommend these:

OurPets Durapet Premium Rubber-Bonded Stainless Steel Bowl 4.5 Quart

    The dogs love it!

Both of my dogs have only used this for a few days, but they absolutely love the flavor! I sprinkle about half a package on their wet food and they eat it right up! In the short time I’ve used it, I have noticed a difference when they potty. This has helped ease the “strain” when they go outside and have improved the overall health!

Has helped my senior dog tremendously

My 11 year old German Shorthair Pointer has been more susceptible to soft stools and other pooping issues as he become older. I have had him on this for about a two weeks now, and the difference in his still stools is night and day. His stools are nice and firm again, and he does his business noticeably faster. I just mix it in with some wet food, and he gobbles it down. He also seems less gassy and a little more energetic.

Works great, wish it came in a capsule

One of our dogs has a very sensitive digestive system. The vet thinks it’s a canine form of IBS, he gets the runs from any dietary indiscretion (unlike our other dog who can eat anything with no ill effects), and sometimes for no reason at all. We’ve learned to control that with special dog food we get from the vet, and it works quite well. However, he still gets the runs a little when he goes on hikes. Not a huge problem, as most of the hikes are in the woods, so I don’t have to clean it up. Still, I decided to try this product to see if it would help, and it does. If I give him a dose every day, he does not have any GI problems, even when we hike. The only con is that it comes in a powder form. Wouldn’t be a problem if we fed the dog wet food, would just sprinkle it on top. As it is, it’s a little more trouble to administer, but I’m very happy with how well it works.

    Game changer

My doodle puppy has had loose stools since we brought him home at 8 weeks. We had him on a strict kibble-only diet with no treats, and still a month later he was having 6-8 loose to watery stools per day, some of which were waking him up at night. After multiple trips to the vet, countless stool samples and prophylactic antibiotics, I finally started him on Fortiflora. Within a week his poop was solid, decreased in frequency and he is sleeping through the night. He loves the taste on his kibble and is a happier pup overall.

Great for Incorporating the Supplement Into Meals! Positive Effects. No Bad Scent.

As a devoted dog owner, I’m always on the lookout for ways to support my furry friend’s health. Recently, I introduced Purina Pro Plan FortiFlora Dog Probiotic Supplement into my dog’s diet. This succinct review offers insights into my experience with this probiotic supplement tailored for dogs.Purina Pro Plan FortiFlora is a probiotic supplement specifically formulated to promote digestive well-being in dogs. It’s reassuring to know that it’s backed by Purina, a brand renowned for its commitment to pet nutrition. Incorporating the supplement into my dog’s meals was seamless; the powder format easily mixed in without altering the taste. Over the course of my usage, I’ve observed potential positive changes in my dog’s digestive comfort and regularity. However, it’s important to remember that while supplements like Purina Pro Plan FortiFlora can play a role in supporting canine health, they should complement a well-balanced diet and proper veterinary care. Before introducing new supplements to your pet’s routine, consulting a veterinarian is crucial. My experience has been positive, but I encourage other dog owners to explore the potential benefits of this supplement and discuss its suitability for their own furry companions.

    Must have post surgery!

My two dogs had surgery the same day. A week long course of antibiotics disrupted their guts. Their poops became hot lava and I would look around the house for an accident, but no poop. Their farts were so bad it was like they pooped inside around the clock. One day I was nauseous and puked because of their farts, so that’s when I ordered these probiotics. After the first meal it was more solid. The next day their toxic farts became normal farts. Definitely recommend and wish I had these right after surgery. I started off one packet each meal, after 4 days I split the packet between them, and now I split a packet between them once a day. When we started they were on wet food only, and I give them kibble and a wet topper. Idk if they would eat it with something wet, but it’s easy to pour it on the wet part and I don’t have to mix it in.

    Great product for my pup!

We’ve had our youngest pup on this probiotic for about 6 months. When we adopted him, his stool was so soft and hard to pick up. He had such a sensitive stomach. And we dealt with that for months before we started him on this probiotic. Gradually, his stool has firmed up. But we also chalked it up to him just getting older and his immune system getting stronger as he was less than a year old when we started him on this probiotic. However, I got to really see this product in action when we picked up our pups from boarding a couple weeks ago. The boarding facility called to tell us they ran out of the food we had brought so we agreed they would start feeding them their house kibble. It was only going to be for a few days so we didn’t think much of it.When we picked them up, our older pup, who is not on a probiotic because she is strong, like bull, came home with bad diarrhea because of the sudden switch in food. Our younger pup who always had diarrhea with even the slightest change in food came home with NO diarrhea! We gave our older pup a couple days of the probiotic and she was good as new. This product is really great. The ingredients are pretty good too and we will continue to purchase!

Great short term fix for digestive issues

The product itself works great but i would STRONGLY CAUTION anyone using it long term. I do not understand why this contains so much COPPER. It makes ZERO sense . On top of your dog food and this your dog is more then likely getting to much . Copper can build up in the liver and slowly kill your dog See. Cornell University study. Love these

My German Australian shepherd has been having digestive system issues and when I give these to her every morning with her regular dog food which I’ll put a little bit of hot water in her hard dog food and then cover it up by putting a plate on top of a bowl I put the food and hot water in I’ll let it set for about a half hour then I’ll dump it into her food bowl then add the probiotic fortiflora in with it then stir it up and then give it to her. And I do this every morning and when she takes it I do notice a big difference in her stool. It’s harder and it actually is formed into a poop instead of it being runny like it was doing before. And how I know it’s from the fortiflora working cause when I run out and she doesn’t get it about the next day or two when it’s out of her system her poop goes right back to how it was before giving her the fortiflora. But as soon as I get it back in and give it to her again the next day already back to seeing a huge difference. So I really do try not to go without it in between boxes for long. I haven’t tried the chewable tablets yet which would probably be easier instead of doing the whole process with fixing her food to making it soft to mix it into her food so she’ll eat it. Some people can use canned dog food as well to give it their your doggos but my dog can’t have her diet changed like that she has to stick with the same diet cause it’ll mess her up even more. But I hope this review helps someone on consideration of this product. I do highly recommend.

    so far so good

We have a 14 year old lab mix (shadow) with some tummy trouble. Shadow would be fine for a week or two, then starting vomiting for a couple of days. After several trips to a couple of different vets with no real results, we where at a lost. Our new current vet couldn’t really find anything either but pointed out several small things. The main thing was the shadow’s age. We have always feed our dogs a really good dry food. Mixing in homemade dog food also. The vet was saying ; They have been finding that senior dogs have a really hard time digesting the current dog food. They are not sure way but something has changed either in the food or the dogs are living longer so we are seeing different problems. She recommended this & had pretty good feed back. We keep using the same dog food & homemade dog food and it seems to be working so far. Shadow has been vomiting made 1/3 as much. The packets make it very easy to use & use consistently.

    Definitely helps IBS in dogs

Our dog has IBS and if she gets ONE MORSEL of something she is not supposed to eat, chaos ensues. We recently purchased this probiotic during one of her episodes and she bounced back much quicker than usual. I recommend giving this to your pup every day for 7 days, then cutting back to M, W, F and eventually cutting back to M, F. If your pup has another episode, start the schedule over.

    Recommended by my vet

How can you tell if a probiotic is helping your dog? I dunno! My regular vet recommended this one, but then later, when I went to a specialist for my dog’s stomach problems, the second vet said that if my dog continued to have symptoms, she may want to switch both his food and the probiotic. Apparently veterinary internists aren’t crazy about probiotics that contain meat (liver powder, in this case.) My dog’s issues are a little better since I switched his food, but I don’t necessarily attribute his improvement to this product. AND it’s pricey — $30 for a 30 day supply.

    This actually works!

My dog had constant issues with loose stools.I could feed him pumpkin puree everyday and that seemed to help, but skip a day and he was back to having the runs.I tried a lot of different products, mostly powdered versions of pumpkins, but none of them seemed to work very well. This product seems to go about things differently, and encourages good gut health rather than trying to offset digestive problems. Treating the cause instead of the symptoms.I use the powder right now, but will also be trying the tablets since they are simper to use in my case. I saw real results in 2 weeks of daily use. Also, my dog didn’t have any issues with the taste or smell of this supplement, which did make a different one I tried a non-starter.

Used to buy the sachets but some dog likes to destroy and eat them all

My doctor loves these and swears by them. My female dutch shepherd pup who is almost 2 yrs old now, likes to eat the Sachets, so I wanted to try these.Pros:-It’s in a plastic bottle which my Dutch Shepherd won’t eat.-Pills can still be crushed for powder effect.-Dogs don’t seem to have issue eating pills in pill form so no need to sneak it into my Purina Pro Plan beef and rice.Cons:-NO SERVING SUGGESTIONS, I assume 1 pill, but that doesn’t seem right since again, I’d assume 1 pill would be overkill for a toy breed, and 1 pill isn’t totally suitable for my Foxhound/Catahoula (70lbs) or my Dutch/Mal/Lab mix (65lbs). So wished there was a bit of advice on the bottle with serving suggestions. Even my vitamins from Top Paw are like 3 chewables for the weight rang you specified. Conclusion:I buy them since my doctor says to, and I have noticed with my girl if she’s getting yeastie down there, that after reintroducing her to these, that in about a week’s time, she no longer has a yeast problem. So, at least with here there’s clear benefits, but something like Trapper the foxhound, MAYBE… Hard to say, since he doesn’t have to really worry about feeling “not so fresh”. So, it’s more of a placebo thing with him. While I just did the math, technically the Sachets are cheaper, I do like the convenience of the pills. Since I used to worry if I was getting enough of the powder out, and stuff like that.

My lactating dog had the worst diarrhea

At a certain point, it doesn’t matter how much the product was if it works! I had tried everything to help my dog with the diarrhea after she had 11 puppies, and nothing would help. I was beginning to get concerned she would be dehydrated, and within two days of using this with a raw meat diet and pumpkin, she was feeling like her old self again! To say I did not sleep because I was up every 15 minutes letting her outside to go potty is an understatement, and I would pay $30 any day for her to feel better, but $30 for me to sleep is amazing!

    Helps w/ diarrhea

The first time I saw this product it was when the vet sold me a week’s worth for my dog’s diarrhea. It’s expensive at almost $1.00 per pack so I didn’t use the whole week at that time. After just a few doses he was better. This last box is my second purchase of a full box. If you have a dog with a sensitive stomach, or one who eats anything that remotely resembles food (like my dog), this is a good product to have in your doggie medicine cabinet. It does have an expiration date though so if you don’t think you will use it all within 6 months or so, you might want to find a friend to split the order with. When he is having a bout of the nasties, I just sprinkle this over his food for a day or two and pretty soon he’s back to normal. I think it’s especially useful to take along when we travel and different water and the general stress of travel can cause an upset tummy. My other dog’s stomach isn’t as sensitive but he will eat it on his food too (and he’s a very fussy eater).Update: 6/20/2013 – Our groomer recommended a different product to us – Pro Bios – which can be used with a variety of farm animals plus dogs, cats, birds and reptiles and other pets. We have been feeding it to our dogs – 1 tsp a day (measure comes in the container) and they seem to like it OK and it has really cut down on their gas and seems to be helping the dog that has the easily upset tummy. It’s quite a bit cheaper than Forti-Flora – $14.59 for a 240 gram container. It comes in a larger size too. So far, we’re very happy with this new product.

    Good price

Always good to have on hand for the occasional upset that needs a little help. Way easier than going to and paying vet visit for some probiotics.

    Wow!

I’m a Purina hater but tried this based on a friend’s recommendation, and the results were immediate and kind of incredible. My puppy stopped farting, my old dog can poop easier, and the neurotic one isn’t licking her paws as much. They all feel so much softer and fluffier. How do providers l probiotics improve coat quality? Idk but seeing is believing.

My dogs eat this up with no problem. I sprinkle on their food and add a little water and they don’t even notice it.My old dogs seem to do better having a probiotic and this has been the best product for them. Other products have caused tummy troubles, but never this one.

Seems to help my German Shepherd A LOT!

Our German Shepherd has had diarrhea and soft stools for years. We have tried all kinds of expensive dog foods. She seemed to have gotten worse recently and was even having bloody stools. I tried this product and after a just few days she was having normal, solid poops! Ran out of the packets and she started having issues again. I just ordered more and within a couple days everything seems back to normal! Plan to keep her on this all the time now!

    Just Buy It!

Wow, wow, wow! First let me start by giving a background on my dog. I have a one year old boxer who has a sensitive stomach. She can only eat certain dog food, no treats at all and no special occasion human food. She gets up anywhere from 2 to 5 times a night to go number 2. I lose a ton of sleep and wake up exhausted from this. My vet mentioned the possibility of a probiotic or adding pumpkin or yogurt into her diet to help her out. I started using this probiotic about a month ago and oh my gosh it works!!!!!! My dog has been sleeping throughout the night!!! She can eat anything now and not have issues! I’m so happy that I can now give her reward treats for her good behavior. Again….we sleep through the night now!!! Worth every penny! Just buy it!!!

    Definitely necessary…

We order this on a monthly basis, we have literally ordered 30 times so far.. our girls have these ‘seasonings’ on their breakfast and they first lick it off of their ‘pebbles’… we depend on these nutrients to keep them healthy!

    Solid waste…

I started using this and noticed within about 4 days my boy stopped licking his paws and his poo was solid always, I’m glad I switched to this and will continue to give to him with his breakfast. Definitely worth it just make sure to give it a fair shake at least three to four days.

    Dogs like it!

I use forti flora for my show dogs (Irish Terriers). Show dog life can be stressful (competition, travel, etc). Having a good probiotic keeps my dogs healthy and happy. As an added bonus their coats look great and their constitution is normal (no messy poos). I highly recommend FortiFlora!

    GSD had soft stools

Her breeder recommended this if the puppy had soft stools so should would not lose a lot of fluids. We put a 1/2 a packet in each meal. By the end of the day puppy was fine and we discontinued it, though the breeder felt we should continue for several days.

This is a good quality product, but very expensive.

I used this product previously with the recommendation from my previous dogs veterinarian. The quality of the product and packaging is very good, but prohibitively expensive for daily use, which made me look for other alternatives. I keep the current box on hand for use when I run out of other ones that I have found that work as well or better and cost less.
