I have been seeing the hype around this brush, and was wondering if it really worked. I am African-American, and I have hair literally to the middle of my behind crack. Typically, I leave my hair braided in cornrows for a long time because I wear wigs for convenience. So for me finding something that would untangle hair that’s been up for a long time was really important.Out of all of the reviews I read, I will say this: this brush is not particularly great on long hair that is not already at least somewhat detangler or combed out. Now, after doing a deep moisturizer, letting my hair sit for a couple of hours, and using this brush to help untangle it, it was a great result. Definitely one of the better ones I’ve used… but do not let some of these reviews and videos trick you into thinking that you can just hop out of the shower or on hair wash day and start combing your hair out with no issues. If you keep it up for a while & are black, you definitely need to go to the detangling process first.

I bought this after all the hype on tiktok over the unbrush for curly hair. My three year old has a sensitive head and even with my most gentle touch touch with her wide tooth combs for her fine/semi curly hair, she would be complaining. I wont say that this brush gets the tangles out like it did in some of the videos on tiktok, but it does NOT hurt her head no matter how hard i am lol. I also think it does do better than the typical comb which is what i normally use on her hair. i will say the brush feels flimsy, but it has surprisingly held up pretty well, for being used twice a day for a number of months.

Love this brush but it’s extremely flumsy. I have really coily fine medium density hair. And I detangled my hair in half the time it normally takes to detangle my hair. I have 4b/4c type hair for reference. The only reason I gave 4 stars is becuz if you have thicker hair, not thicker strands, when you get a grip you may push on the back part of the brush’s head. Once I did that the brissels came loose and I couldn’t get them back in the grooves to snap in. The brush is extremely flimsy so you have to be very careful where you put your hand/fingers to not push in on the middle head part of the brush. Another thing, this brush will not work on damp hair, has to be soak and wet unless you have low density hair. My mom’s has low density and she was able to easily detangle without a steady stream of water. The shower with a steady stream of water is probably best with medium/high density hair or if you do your hair in the sink like me put each section under the stream as you detangle. I detangle with a good slippery soap and instead of an hour I was finished in 30mins with shampooing & detangling. I didn’t have to detangle with my conditioner at all. All in all this is a great bush if you learn how to use it for your hair.

I have insanely thick, curly corse, long hair. I typically end up with really bad matting underneath and my my neck area. My husband usually sends on a good night an hour to an hour and a half brushing piece by piece out for me cause its really bad. Every night im usually in tears due to the pain, mind u my scalp is full of intense thick eczema patches. i’m not tender headed at all , im from the generation where ” your mom never pulled your hair, you were just not keeping still.” Yea mom was pulling it just saying. I was extremely sceptical of this actually working as we have tried all types of brushes for curly hair thick hair corse hair, salon grade brushes wet brushes etc, yes my husbands wallet has cried at the amount of money i have spent on different brushes to tame the lions mane i call hair. I was able to dry brush my hair which i never can do it has to be straight out of the shower with no issues. I brushed my hair in less then 30 mins. For giggles I wet it after and it went through even easier and tamed alot of the frizz and i didnt look like I stuck my finger in a light socket. To say i’m pleased with this is an understatement. The icing on the cake was that I had no scalp pain at all during or after using this brush. typically my head is extremely sore and it bleeds due to the eczema issues, and I had only One tagle pull, one that was it and it wasn’t like it hurt it was just like a small snag the second pass went right through no issuesdefinitely will be purchasing 3 more for our littles

This brush is Fantastic!!! I have a daughter with wavy hair about 3/4 down her back & a granddaughter whose hair is thick, very curly and coarse, & waist length. When I used it in my daughter it went through her hair no tangles. Definitely still use either wet or with a little spritz on dry hair, but it was fabulous!The real test for me was my granddaughter’s hair. It’s usually a fight to get a brush through, wet or dry. Used today with her detangler spritz and WOW!!! We had a tangle or two but it was a miracle. What usually takes about 15-20 minutes to get through was about 5 minutes. DEFINITELY recommend and in fact will be buying another one. Price is a lot more than what I spend on a hairbrush but it’s worth it for what it saves in tears and hair being torn out.

Full African American here I have very tight curls and knotted hair is a lifestyle & I was very skeptical. It’s not like all of the videos and just glides through your hair but it was worth every penny it cut my brushing Time in half. I tested it on my 1yo with thin hair and who hates having his hair brushed he fussed way less than usual. Then I tried it on my tender headed 16 yo who also has long thick hair & tight curls he asked for his own immediately he loved it too…. We had to buy a second one

I love this brush. Great for one of my daughter’s hair (3B). It is light, feels like a toy, but works well. We used kinky curly not today leave in condition and combed it with this brush. My 5 year old was excited to easily comb her hair. We also have the Denman D3 brush and I like that as well. But the bristles in this brush is more spaced out so it was easier to use. I’m super excited about this comb and will be replacing my wet brushes! Oh, and so easy to clean compared to the wet brushes (because they have the ball tip that traps lint which is hard to remove)Definitely twice the wet brush price but will (hopefully) last twice as long, or more.

I have extremely thin hair. I wanted a brush that would be as gently as possible so it would break as little hair as possible. Using any other brush. I loose a lot of hair to breakage. This brush is much better. I still have some breakage but no were near what I have with others brushes. If you have thin hair you know how valuable that is

Bought this because lots of people who had hair that sheds a lot like me were posting their shedding before and after using this brush and it went from being around the amount my hair sheds to being a couple strands with the use of this brush. I should’ve known it was probably too good to be true lol but nonetheless it is a great brush & very sturdy I’ll give it that, but it will not magically transform hair that sheds in excessive amounts into hair that only loses a few strands because a brush can only do so much. So don’t fall for the hype but I still would recommend it as a great brush!

I have fine thick colored hair. I often struggle with very tanglely hair and have to use a good amount of detangler. However, with this brush I can brush through my hair easily without detangler. It is best when i section my hair and start to brush at the end of my hair and move upwards. This brush, brushes with ease! I have tried several different brushes before and this one is by far the best.

This brush is great and it does its job, but so does the $4 detangling brush I got from my local hair store. Does it save me time in the shower? No. Do I get less hair in this brush than my other one? Also no. The best thing about this brush is the fact that it’s thin so it’s easier to grip than my normal detangler.My advice: if you have a detangling brush that works well, don’t waste your money. But if you need one, this is a good (overpriced) option.

I was influenced by TikTok to buy this, so my expectations were kind of low, but when I tried it, I was shocked by how painless the brushing process was and it significantly cut down the time down. I will say my hair is pretty thick and I have really curly hair, so it typically won’t go through my whole head of hair. I have to section it, or take my show comb to finish it off. Maybe adds on an extra 5 minutes. Regardless that process is very easy compared to what it was. The duration for detangling went from over and hour to 20ish minutes. Completely worth it !

All of us have one child whose hair is absolutely insane. There is arguments, chronic irritation, and just general bad vibes around the entire hair brushing process. Unfortunately you also know if you don’t brush it, it just gets worse. I saw the Unbrush advertised and oh my gosh, it has changed our lives! What used to take sectioning out my toddlers hair and brushing it gently for no less than five minutes now takes literally ONLY FIVE passes through her hair. I have no idea how they are able to do this but this brush is the real deal! I have already ordered more so that we can have them on hand because it is so nice. I will never buy another brush again!

I am black with 4C, 4B, and 4A hair on my head. I normally wear my hair in wash and gos or in two flat twists. The Unbrush has cut my detangle time down by 75% and has decreased my breakage just the same. The brush feels very flimsy when you first get it and goes through your hair so smoothly it doesn’t feel like it’s working BUT IT IS. I used to use detangle brushes that aren’t connected (plastic and silicone connected at the base but not the top) but this is so much better. Very good if you’re tender headed and perfect for styling as well. My only critique is that they should get more black people in their ad so we know it’s for us!

Oh em geeeee! This brush looks so flimsy and I was so skeptical! But I was at my wits end because my child’s hair needed a miracle! Lmao. Our detangling sessions are at least an hour usually filled with her tears and my frustration. Today, we received the brush, washed her hair, conditioned and detangled using this brush with NO DETANGLING PRODUCT in less than 30 minutes! She didn’t cry! It is a little bit flimsy as some ppl have mentioned but it’s not as bad as I thought it was going to be. It also doesn’t brush through every time like it does on the ads, which I expected. Because let’s be realistic, everyone’s hair is different. (I deal with some pretty thick hair with tight curls & straight hair as well). HOWEVER, it does make detangling sooo much easier!! & it cut down more than half the time for brushing all the hair textures I deal with. Especially when hair is wet/damp with some leave-in conditioner or some kind of hair relaxer.. gets the job done 10/10!! For thicker hair split into sections. 👍

So, obviously I thought this was a white people product for white people hair, because they usually are! But then I saw a video about the science of how it works and the lady was east asian with straight-ish hair. Her opinion was a solid “meh,” but I figure anybody who likes the unbrush would say something in the comments. Lo and behold, somebody in the comments said they had 4c hair and it worked GREAT for them! And a bunch of other people jumped in saying that it’s good for curly hair, better even than it is for straight hair.Now me? I only have 4a-4b hair. So I say to myself, “Well, what’s good for the goose must be good for the gander!” So I go ahead and get it. At first, I’m using it and worried it’s so gentle because it’s not DOING anything. You know how some just don’t make any kind of a difference? But after only a few minutes more, I realize that no, it really actually IS doing something and still that gentle! Then I washed my hair, tried it when detangling that, and it worked just as great on wet hair as dry. (Don’t come for me about brushing my hair dry, I KNOW.)It feels like a bit of a cliche, but it really has become my new favorite brush. I’ve had natural hair for over a decade, had a denman for at least half that time and this is just wild to me. Now, I will admit I never really experimented with pulling rows out of the denman, but who effing wants to do THAT? Anyway, long story short, if you’ve got afro-textured hair, it’s gonna work great. And if you DON’T have afro-textured hair, but your KID does? Get this. For sure. Give that baby a chance in heck of having hair that looks like something decent without getting it all ripped out.4/5 because one side is already starting to bend and also because barely any black folks are in the ads. my hair was somehow tangled when i got ny drush so i decided why not test to see if it actually worksit worked.i didnt need no detangleing spray nor wateri just used it on my hair and- it detangled in less then 5-10 minutesin my opinion it also leaves you hair soft, which i lovei 100% recommend this item if your unsure about it 💕p.s. its also SUPER light and VERY easy to cleanit would take out less, likr so much less hair then a actual brush would and you barely even feel it

I never had knots in my hair until I started getting it highlighted. I dreaded washing my hair until I purchased this brush. This brush is fantastic! It goes strait though my wet hair getting rid of all the knots without too much of a problem.

I have thin/fine wavy hair, it’s tangles SO EASILY. I feel like I’m losing more hair than I should and did a lot of research and found this brush. I am do for a hair cut, so does it catch on some kinks or knots in my hair? Yes. BUT that being said, this brush is not ripping my hair out like my previous brush!! It’s actually removing the knots and kinks with little to no hesitation and I’m spending less time brushing my hair because of how easily it removes them.

My husband died, and I have been in a deep depression for months and months now. That means I am in bed more often than not, and I’m crying to the point of exhaustion on a daily basis. So I have really thick hair, and really wanted to love this. It does work in that it untangles pain free, but I wish the bristles were firmer, it doesn’t brush all the way to my scalp, I end up using my old brush that has stiff bristles, that’s the only drawback, if you have super thick hair it doesn’t brush all the way through. But I’ll continue to use it and at least get 80% of it untangled, then just use my old brush once through to make sure

It’s definitely better than the brushes I have. Especially when your hair wet, it does wonders. Of course if you have knotty hair, the brush does not go through it smoothly but it breaks that knot up quicker and better than most brushes do.

I tried it first on my 4 year olds 3c hair and it instantly went through like butter. I was shocked. This was unwashed, dry, let down twist 3c hair, and it went through better than my fingers. I tried next on my 4c 5 year old. Did the exact same. Like butter. Tried on both after fresh wash. Again, went through so easily. Even though big hand fulls of hair. Was able to get though both with deranging, washing, conditioning, detangling again, and styling, in under 2 hrs for each. Had been taking me 4 hrs. No tears. They both ASKED me to use that brush on the next round. Def the best money I’ve ever spent. I threw away all my other brushes.

Don’t let the flimsy looking design fool you. It’s stronger than it looks. I’m always looking for ways to quickly and safely detangle my hair. I have very thick 4C type hair that makes single strand knots very soon after I’ve detangled a section. It’s frustrating to say the least. This brush is amazing! It’s useful on dry or wet hair. I prefer it on damp to wet hair. Not only does it melt away my knots and tangles with ease, it’s a great tool for distributing product onto your hair. I’m glad I purchased two so that I can keep a spare in my travel bag.

This brush surprised me! My hair is a mix of 4a, 4b, and 4c, and it is quite thick. My hair has always tangled quite easily, and I’ve always suffered with breakage. Even after finger detangling, I have a hard time combing/brushing my hair. Yet, this brush went right through my tangles. After I apply my leave in, I finger detangle then go in with a brush. I expected this brush to be like the others and get stuck in my hair. However, it went through my tangles, without pulling out much hair like other brushes! I brushed vertically first, then horizontally. I had way less breakage than I did with other brushes, and it only snagged in my hair a few times during my entire detangling session! For me, that’s saying a lot.I will warn you, don’t be deceived by the weight of the brush. On top of my skepticism given my hair type and my experiences with brushes, I was even more pessimistic when I felt the weight of the brush. To be blunt, it feels overly light, and my first thought was “Great, this brush feels cheap and is going to break in my hair.” But, it turned out to be the best detangling brush I have EVER used. If you’re considering it, it’s worth a try.

My hair trends to mat really bad in the back and before I purchased this brush I had to finger comb the knots out and then follow up with a normal paddle brush and I would lose a lot of hair. As a single father, I don’t claim to know anything about little girls’ hair. Except that it gets all sorts of tangled and knotted and otherwise messed up to the point that you wish you had a hair stylist on speed dial. Well I bought this brush based on a review on youtube. I was desperate since everything else seems designed to rip hair out or make life hard with detangling. I am now content and happy. The brush detangled in few strokes, very little hair came out and I am a happy camper.

I saw these brushes all over Tiktok but after buying it, I understand the hype! This brush glides through my hair, wet or dry. Ive historically had to brush my hair piece by piece before getting everything untangled but with this brush, I can have all my hair tangle free in a few passes

My daughter doesn’t complain anymore when I brush her hair. She has a sensitive head and she is 22 months old. It is expensive with how cheap it looks. But it does do the job. I feel when I use it on my hair I have to separate it out in order for it to go through my hair. The trick of this brush is that it doesn’t have the balls or knots on the ends so it isn’t pulling the hair out as much.

This brush is amazing. I have naturally curly hair and have struggled my entire life with tangles. Other brand brushes get caught and stuck in the tangles. This brush glides with the tangles with no pulling. I missed placed this brush and tried to use my old brush and it was not the same. I had to stop and find my UNbrush. I will never be able to use another brush again.

This product was everything and more. I have seen it advertised on tiktok, and knew it was what I needed. I have always had thick, course hair. It’s constantly getting knotted up, and takes forever to brush out. When brushed out, it’s extremely poofy. With this brush it is not, it takes maybe 5-6 strokes through my hair for it to be brushed well.I love it!

This brush will change your life is all I have to say I’m very tender headed and this brush makes my life better no matter how nappy my hair is the brush is plastic and a little bit flimsy I was surprised by that but it’s worth it

I have fine, uneven hair strands that often tangle terribly … this brush … breezes right through my tangles with no pain … I love it! Glad I made the purchase.
