Sorta Okay
Heard such good things decided to give it a try. My main concern was videos only showed one type of weed and that is my only downside. I bought a rental home so yard was never taken care of. This tool is not good for crabgrass and find my pick axe better. Wish I only had dandelions to deal with!

Handy tool!
We have some big weeds here in the south. This weed puller works but sometimes needs more than one go for the larger ones. It’s super easy and fast to use, the kids can use it and it makes it more fun for them to pull the weeds. It definitely makes things easier on your back.

Works well, within reason
Hard soils, thick or dead plants cant be grabbed very well, but if you go after a rain, or a medium amount of watering, it can perform pretty well.Of course if the plant you are trying to pull is too large, it wont grab it and can slip off. But it will loosen it up enough you can shovel or just pull it out by hand, and wont have to fight it as hard.Like any tool, it works well when used correctly. The only thing i’d like to see is a bit longer of a socket for the handle, and a second screw to secure it, just for longevity of the tool.

Great Tool For Weeds
I love this weeder! It really pulls up weeds, roots and all. It’s easy to use. You push the claw at the end into the ground, over the weed, then lean the stick down a little before pulling up. The weed comes out as you pull the stick up. It’s so nice not to have to get on my knees to pull weeds!

I was skeptical
I’ll be honest, I was a bit skeptical of this. I am in my mid-20s and don’t like gardening, but this is actually pretty fun to use and doesn’t take that long. For some weeds I have to use my hand to manually keep the tines clamped around the plant, but I haven’t had to stick my hands in the dirt yet!

Works great
This is very effective at getting weeds out of the ground, including the roots. I still had some low back pain while using it, but that might be because of my body mechanics, not the tool. I would also say to be careful not to use it on a weed where the root is too thick because you could break the handle. This is for your basic weed, not like a mini bush or tree. I really like it and I recommend it to anyone who hates weeding.

Good Tool for Pulling Weeds
I can’t say I loved this tool, but I do appreciate the ease with which it pulls weeds. The one knock I have on it is that if your lawn is even slightly muddy, everything sticks to this, and you end up bending over to clean it off anyway. It is a solid four-star tool.

I’m in love with Grandpa!
We bought our house in the summer of 2022. The yards probably hadn’t been weeded in 20 years. There were THOUSANDS of dandelions. A neighbor saw me on my knees digging them out and mentioned that there were “weeding sticks.” What? There exists such a wonder?I found Grandpa’s weeder here and bought it.It’s fantastic! All of our yards are now dandelion free. When any pop up again, I just whip out Grandpa and they’re gone in seconds!I bought this in a bundle with a hand tool weeder from the same company. It works great on smaller/more delicate roots. I call that one “Grandma.”

This thing works very well. If I were designing it I would change 2 things; make the handle 24″ longer & make the handle plastic coated metal. I do expect the bamboo handle to break at some point, then I’ll fashion a metal one. In the meantime – it really does work.

Super product for certain weeds
I used this primarily for dandelion type weeds that grow aggressively deep and low to the ground in the lawn. It takes just a little practice to get the maneuvering down but after that it pulls up the weed with 3-4″ of tap root. I found you have to be sure to open the prong type jaws really wide and place them in the center of the weed. Then you step on the jaws so they sink in deeply and SLOWLY pull the handle back until you can feel the root snap. Then just continue to pull back and voila! that tough weed is out of the ground. Going slowly I found was most important because otherwise I just pulled the top part of the weed up. Previously I had to dig these weeds up with a shovel to get them root and all. This tool best for weeds with a long tap root I’ve found. This is a well made tool that has been around for years. I’ve seen them in perfect condition after 20-30 years of use. They are not complicated. I’m so glad they are being made in the same heavy duty fashion.

This is a back saver.
This passed year the weeds had been horrible. If it wasn’t for this, I would have had horrible back aches and knee problems. Easy to use and really durable. Don’t leave it outside, keep it in storage after cleaned and done. Or else the wood will become fragile and break. If it does just get a broom stick and drill it on.

Weeds be gone!
My coworker recommended this based on reviews he heard, I initially was hesitant because of the money but I finally caved and I can say everyone is 1000% right, grabs almost all types of weeds (except for super small ones). That’s really the trick to having nice grass – keep up with the weeds. I saw a review saying theirs broke, I just don’t push as hard when it starts to bend a little.

Appears to get many, if not most weeds under the right conditions.
I have one of these weeders but my most significant experience with it was watching my next-door neighbor use it to clean his yard from a significant amount of medium-sized weeds. Its effectiveness is largely dependent on whether the ground is hard or reasonably soft, but if it is soft, the weeder gets down where it needs to be and removes the weed completely. Some weeds have very deep root systems so you would really need well-watered ground in order to leverage the weeder for complete removal. In Southern CA where we have dry (and hard) decomposed granite dirt, the weeder is not as effective. The best time to use the weeder here would be in late winter after a good rainstorm passage. I would recommend purchasing this device and just being aware of its limitations.

Simple, relatively durable tool.
I like the durability plus the wood and metal design. No plastic. It works best when the ground is moist. Weeds may not pull out in one go if the ground is dry. Also, every once in a while I need to break mud free of the prongs in order to use it effectively. The mud gets caked on sometimes. The only thing I don’t like is the wooden shaft doesn’t nest inside the metal tool much..but it has been working well. I got the hang of using it and I have pulled hundreds of weeds. No joke. Haven’t broken it yet.

You still need to bend down
I really like using this weeder because it takes all the pressure/work off my hands. I don’t have to crawl around on the ground to pull up weeds anymore which is great… BUT the weeds do not come out of the tool easily and you have to knock them out with your hands. I need to either bring the end up or bend down to empty the tool. Not a huge issue for me, but it could be annoying.

Made weeding kind of fun!
Saw this on a social media post. There’s several variants by other manufacturers, but I bought the original. Our new house doesn’t have a well established lawn. So we get these small prickly weeds that have woody stem with a very deep tap root. This weeder pops them out nicely! So much easier than trying to pull them by hand. It was actually kind of fun hunting down weeds in the yard and yanking them out with this tool!As a tall human I wish the handle was slightly longer, but that’s a MINOR issue.

Works Well
Gets the jobs done for pulling out weeds that don’t come out easily by hand. It’ll break 1/2″ roots too if you’re pulling on something more substantial. Can be a little tedious process picking the dirt out of the crimps between pulls, but you will have a longer lasting effect of the weed being gone with how deep it gets.

Sturdy and Gets The Job Done
Bought this to dig up pesky thistle that’s popping up everywhere following the drought here in South Central Texas. Bamboo handle feels quite sturdy, has a good length for my 6’6” husband, and we like the cast iron tool head. Does a good job, but the tines themselves could allow for a larger root system…since the thistle roots we’re dealing with are early stage it’s getting the job done, so we’re very happy with it

Well-made, cleverly-designed, simple and effective weeder!
My lawn was devastated by drought in 2022, and the weeds moved in for 2023. This fall, I wanted to yank a lot of the crab grass and dandelions, etc. and try to allow the grass to fight back to dominance. I don’t use a lot of lawn chemicals over concern for the immediate and general environment, and I have time to do weeding– I just needed an effective tool, and one that wouldn’t stress my back. This thing is a well-made, cleverly-designed, simple and effective weeder! I had to get the knack for grabbing different weeds– push it down not so deep for crab grass, deeper for dandelions. With the dandelions, I’m sometimes getting a broken root, which I bet means they’ll regrow, but sometimes I get an entire root that looks like a big carrot! A tool that is worth buying.

I’ll admit that some of my backyard dandelions are near knee-high
I engage in NO-mow-May and enjoy watching the wild violets, wild strawberries, white clover and other interesting plants stretch their roots and slowly replace the Bermuda grass. Unfortunately, dandelions enjoy the same conditions stimulating those wild plants. I generally avoid having my lawn guy mow at all in the slowly expanding wild section and bribe him to weed-whack the tall tops instead. That improves the appearance but does nothing to those dandelions and I’m really determined to avoid herbicide wherever and whenever I can. Enter Grampa’s Weeder which works as described, BUT my ground is incredibly hard with minimal rain so plunging the Weeder into the ground is tough and eventually would risk the wood shaft of the tool. Here’s my tip: water the dandelion area first, generally a section at a time, then plunge to your heart’s desire. It’s a great tool and actually fun to use.

Does the job well but……
Great tool. Does the job really well except that the weed gets stuck in the bottom “fork” and becomes difficult to remove. You either have to tap it hard on something or step on the weed itself. Then of course you are bending over to pick up the weed defeating the purpose of the tool!

Works as advertised.
PROS:* Works precisely as advertised.* What more could you ask? The tongs could be a little longer for deeper root systems. But they work fine for weeds about a foot tall. Any larger and their roots may not all come out.CONS:* For some, the ball of dirt that comes with the roots might seem unsightly/ excessive. Just look at it as aeration, they fill in on their own quite easily.

Somehow makes weed pulling fun
Caveat – our yard is primarily weeds. We have been in a drought for so long that we have not bothered to plant grass. And until we can afford to do some work on our house that would be easier without fancy landscaping, we’re living with it. Luckily, most of the weeds are grassy-ish and maintained by mowing. But there are three weeds I cannot stand, including one that lies low to the ground and gets little stickers all over it (my chihuahua often comes hopping over to me with one stuck to her paw), one that starts looking like a dandelion but grows into a tall, scraggly weird looking plant, and foxtails. This tool works GREAT on the weeds that have a definite tap root like the first two I described. It does not work so well on the foxtails. It also doesn’t work well on weeds that are growing really close to concrete. But oh boy, I had fun pulling out the weeds I could grab! We still have weeds, but now that it’s dry again, they are dying off until next spring. This tool definitely helped reduce the number of them in our yard. It does not feel totally sturdy so if you have hard clay soil like we do, use it before the soil totally dries out.

It’s a One-Minded Tool
This tools seems to be a one-minded tool, meaning it’s great for pulling weeds as long as the stem is of a certain diameter. Grampa’s Weeder has troubles with weeds any bigger or smaller. I have 4-feet tall dandelion weeds in my yard, and this tool isn’t the most ideal for removing them. I, too, wish they designed a way to remove weeds that cannot be grasped with the 4 prones. For instance, this tool fails spectacularly with moss-like weeds. In this case, the tool could have a few extra small prongs so that I can like twirl it to trap the strands of moss and twist like spaghetti. This would help me to pull to them them out of the ground. Having some extra prongs would turn this into a makeshift rake so that I can just use it to transfer my weed pile into my compost bin. If you have sapling weeds, forget it. This tools fails at getting those. The tool does feel sturdy and well-built. The wooden handle feels good and solid in your hands, like you can use it to fend off a horde of zombies (okay, not really…it feels more like a broom handle). The metal prones feel solid, too. Do be careful with getting at the bigger weeds with this tool. As mentioned, it’s not really designed for them and I have had to back off on the tool when the wooden handle started flexing at a crazy angle.

I like it, but it’s not as great as advertised
It’s been fun weeding with this (no bending down!) and I’ve had some success getting dandelions and other weeds out of my lawn and mulch, but I do have two complaints.1) Most of the time, it pulls up so much dirt with the plant that it’s not able to fully close on the plant and rips the roots. Also I have to manually scrape out the dirt after every weed extraction. It gets old and messy. I will say, though, the larger the weed, the better this performs.2) I’ve only been using this tool sparingly for a month, and I can already tell the wood handle will not last more than a few years. It has flexed and bent when removing even tiny weeds, but I think that’s due to the issue stated above—more often than not, it’s grabbing mostly dirt, and that puts a lot of strain on the lever when pulling the weed out.Despite these small issues, I’ve recommended it to several people. In my experience it works better on bigger weeds—weeds where the root system is big enough to fill the tool’s entire mouth.

0 to 100 weeds an hour in no time flat
My father’s new place was more weeds than lawn. My father’s usual method of spraying was slow to work when it worked at all (neighbor had decorative gardens, limiting what could be used); mowing them down left woody stalks and stems sticking up all over the place. I ordered Grampa’s Weeder because the pictures looked like it was all metal other than the handle, while the pictures for most competitors looked like they had some plastic parts. Had heavy-use items like a French fry cutter and a kitchen slicer in the past with plastic parts, and they usually don’t last long. I needed something that might clear the whole property without breaking. When I did get it, the aesthetic design was underwhelming, though I appreciated that it only had one moving part to minimize points of failure. But when I started using it within the hour … wow. I almost couldn’t stop using it — there’s something deeply satisfying about looking around and seeing the immediate results of your work as you work. It was doing the job well even without soaking the ground. I think I managed 300-400 weeds within 3 hours. I might’ve gotten more, but I learned I had to go slow to keep from breaking the tap roots. Too bad that’s not even half the weeds on the property….This lawn’s soil hardness is probably average, though not much softer; I’ve known other places where you could barely use a sharpened shovel, much less a tool like this. I’m somewhat obese and very out of shape, but I was able to keep going for three hours without needing a break (though my arm had a mild ache for a couple days afterwards from overusing it).Sometimes the tap root would break off, but I’ve had that problem in the past with hand tools and bare hands anyway. This is much easier and faster than doing it by hand. It went well for my first time using it, especially after I learned to slow down. It worked better than I expected on the few weeds without tap roots I went after, as long as you can get the center of the clump of roots.Divots after getting tap roots are noticeably bigger than when using hand tools or bare hands, though part of that may have been from the ground not being presoaked. If there were less than a couple dozen weeds (and I actually cared about divots), I might have gone after the weeds by hand. For weeds without tap roots, bigger divots are probably better anyway, though I’m not an expert and thus don’t know that for sure.A nice bonus is the basic instructions on the handle itself. A minor quibble is that the lines are too thick for the level of detail in the illustrations, making it slightly difficult to tell what the illustrations actually are. Simplifying the illustrations may be more practical than using thinner lines.TL;DR: I’m very happy with it, and the few minor issues I noticed were ones I didn’t have any actual problems with.

Works Great!
This was just what I was looking for! Im trying to keep the use of pesticides to a minimum, and this was my choice after reading all the reviews. The only reason this product does not get 5 stars is because of the difficulty that I have in clearing the weed/dirt from the tool. Otherwise- great product.

A Fun and Useful Tool
I had to practice a bit to get the hang of this tool, but once I did, I noted it is really good with weeds that have a deeper root. Also ground clover can be removed if you can correctly find the center of the plant. If not, at least you will find where the main root is not. I do think it is a bit too grabby for our northeastern dandelions as they are rather shallow and therefore the tool gouges extra soil. I use a forked hand tool for those. However, it was really worth it, and I enjoy finding the center of the plant and popping it out of the ground. Satisfyingly fun.

Great! Just one little thing…
Tried this the second it was delivered. Oh my gosh it worked shockingly well on crabgrass and other random zone 7 weeds. Like butter. My only wish? That the “grabber” part would stay pinched shut when I pull the weed up. The weeds, while easily pulling out, are falling to the ground causing me to have to bend over to pick them up. Kind of negates the point of this tool.

100% Honest Review
I give this product 4 stars not 5 because it does work pretty good on the bigger weeds, but on the small weeds not so good, the smaller weeds seem to slip throw the pincers, so when that happens I have to bend over to pluck out the smaller ones and I use the wood pole to make bending over easier or else I’d give it 3.5 stars. Hope this helps because I bought this based on all the 5 star reviews, like it was an amazing tool. Now it is an excellent tool for the big weeds but sucks for the smaller ones.

Huge help!
Living in a semi rural area it is easy for weeds and such to pop up in the yard. Dandelions can take over in a heartbeat. This spring I used it a couple days for a total of maybe 3 hours and got every bit of dandelion, crabgrass and any other random weed out of the yard. It is easy, requires relatively little force and does a great job of getting the weed AND the root. As an out of shape Middle Ager, this really saved my knees and back, and left my yard and flower bed looking gorgeous. Makes me really enjoy the work and take pride in my yard.

Practical tool for getting rid of weeds
Took me a while to get the hang of it, but with a bit a practice it is starting to come to life. Only reason for the 4 star rating is that it is not useful for some weeds. It works great with crab grass and dandylions, but some of the more grassy weeds it is a bit challenging to use. But all in all, I’m glad I have it in my weed killing arsenal.

Too small to use it
I wasn’t able to use it because I only weigh 115 pounds and the ground in still too hard (drought state) to penetrate. I’m hoping that when we get moisture on a regular basis, that changes and I can use it on the giant crab grass invading our yard. But I can promise I won’t actively do anything to gain weight.

I enjoyed this product and it made pulling dandelions so much easier. It worked great on large weeds, didn’t work as well on smaller weeds. I used it after a rain so the ground was soft which may have helped. It’s definitely better than bending over to pull them.

It works well for most weeds.
I like the lightweight of this tool, and the ability to do the job as advertised, most of the time. By that I mean it works great in most soil but when the soil is dry and compacted the tool cannot pull up plants with long tap roots. And we have many many thistles with taproots 12″ long and longer. The tool seems to be specific for plants with taproots vs long, deep, tender, slender roots, as in field bind weed. A most noxious beast, is the field bindweed. For lawns it would be an ideal dandelion puller. It’s worth the price paid, IMO, even if it isn’t a universal weed puller.

Soil conditions matter
My wife and daughter like this a lot, and use it all the time. I on the other hand am not a fan.1. If the soil conditions are not right, it’s difficult to use effectively. Can’t be too dry or too wet. If the soil IS right this works really well.2. It takes out a lot of dirt each time you use it, so you will have lots of 1 inch holes in your yard. I do not like this. My wife doesn’t care because the weeds are gone.3. We find the removing the weed from the grabber part is a pain and requires a screw driver of scrapper. Not a huge deal, just an extra step before pulling the next weed.4. It does save your back. No more bending.5. Easy for kids to use. Our 8 yr old loves using this to pull weeds. So that is a huge Plus.

Best weeder I’ve ever used
Allow me to caveat my headline by saying I haven’t used every weeder on the market, but of the ones I have used, Grampa’s Weeder is the best. It’s great not having to bend over and attempt to yank a weed by hand, which usually results in the roots staying behind. Even using hand weeders isn’t good enough. Grampa’s Weeder uses a claw that grips the weed tight to pull out pretty much everything; it’s default position is closed, too, making it more effective.Unavoidable Facts:* You’re basically digging a small hole around every weed to remove it so pulling dirt out and leaving holes behind is unavoidable, but preferable to a weed, at least in my opinion* Stuff gets stuck in the claw tines: especially if you’re working in mulch or dry soil, you’ll probably have to push everything off the claw to get it off* Because you’re picking up dirt with the weed, your bucket can get heavy in a hurry so plan accordingly if you have trouble liftingPros:* Stand and weed. No more bending over!* Grab most if not all of the weed so its roots aren’t left behind* Light! It’s not very tiring to use* Works in most soil types, but dry soil can be hard to work in* Foot piece is forked and can be used as a weeder as well.Cons:* Doesn’t work on all weeds, but that’s more the fault of the weed. I had the hardest time with thin weeds like errant baby maple trees* Have to be pretty on-center for it to work best, which can be hard with weeds like crab grass* Tedious: Grampa’s Weeder by necessity only pulls one weed at a time so if you have a lot of weeds in a small area, it’ll get tedious fast, but it’s worth it* Mulch can get jammed in the tinesAll this said, I still stand by my 5-star review. I’d say my success rate in pulling out an entire weed in one go was 90% with Grampa’s Weeder, compared with closer to 50% or less by hand or with a small weeding tool. I think short of having a robot that can do this task for you, you won’t find a better option for removing single weeds than Grampa’s Weeder!

Good tool with some downsides.
Over all look is sturdy but the handle, as written by others, is weak. The bamboo is flexible at the base where it attaches to the metal. Adding a metal shaft 6 or more inches through the center of the handle would make this product a lifetime tool. The bamboo is weaker than the weeds you may be trying to pull, so use caution and presoak your areas to be weeded. Secondly, there is concern about holes left by the weed removal and ejection of the weed itself. It is so simple, pull the weed up as directed and then return the weed to the hole. step of the side of the weed and it easily pulls from the tool. Tap the top of the weed a few times and the dirt comes off. Next use the forked end of the tool to pull the weed away from the hole and you have a filled hole and a cleanly removed weed. Takes 5 minutes of practice but you will have a pile of weeds in no time… Can be addicting!

Crabgrass, meet your nemesis
This is a great tool for anyone who would rather not weed on hands-and-knees–especially for grass/crabgrass that invades your flowerbeds.Pulling out crabgrass was something I had been leaving to my husband, because I just couldn’t remove it by hand or with small tools. (I’m over 65, with the usual aches and pains, and wrist surgery earlier this year.)But then I got Grampa’s Weeder. (Insert evil laughter here!) This thing is PERFECT for uprooting crabgrass (and turf grass that rudely intrudes where it’s not wanted.) Evicting the crabgrass was actually fun!One drawback: I haven’t had the best of luck using the tool to pull up spurge or ivy, because you have to get the tool centered just so to get at these tiny roots. It’s been quicker to pull those weeds by hand. But if my “removal efficiency” changes with practice, I’ll be back to edit this review, and to add a fifth star!

Not as easy as it looks 👀
In a moment of desperation, I looked for a stand-up weeder. I compared all the options, setting on this one…a simple design that is sturdily built. I watched the accompanying videos with anticipation of having a weed-free lawn, in minutes! It came right away, and I opened the box and extricated my new life changing device. 🤗. I set about finding the nearest offending dandelion, thinking I was about to get some vengeance. I took aim, stepped on the little bar, rocked it to the side, and….,pulled out a chunk of dirt!—totally missing the intended target 🤭. Not to be fooled so fast, I tried again, and yet again! Nothing! I guess I’ll have to practice, who knew??! 🤔

Nice
It saves you from having to pull weeds with your hands. Downside is they leave a pretty big whole where the weed was. If the roots are deep you will end up snapping the roots in half and the weed will eventually regrow. That being said it is a solid tool that will get most of your weeds pull with little effort.

Great if you are short
This is a sturdy tool, and it works. However, if you are over five feet tall, it’s too short. You have to bend over every time you use it, which makes it hard on your back. They should give you a handle at least a foot longer, and there would be no back strain. It would be well worth paying a few dollars more.

Good for certain types of weeds
I wanted to love this since I hate pulling weeds. It works great for some types of weeds like dandelions with a big tap root. For other types, it is not as good. Also, if the soil is moist the root/dirt clod gets stuck and has to be manually extracted.

I’m a 78 yo, 4’11” woman who’s a bit clumsy – I finally figured out how it works, but it wasn’t as easy for me as portrayed. I still needed to bend over to pick up the extracted weeds, so I might as well bend over to pull them. I will say that it definitely pulls the full dandelion roots out. I just need more practice. But now — it’s too dang hot! 🙂

What it does, it does really well. What it doesn’t do is yours to judge.
I was shocked at how well this thing pulls up weeds like dandelions, and really gets the whole root stem out of the ground. My only issue, and the reason I didn’t rate it 5 stars is that you have to manually remove the weeds from the claw end, because the claw will not let them go to drop in a garden pail or green waste type bin. If you have bad wrists, it’s a bit on the heavy side for all that manual removal.

Works great, but tines should be longer
It’s just too bad that the tines aren’t a little longer. It pulls the dandelion root out just like it describes, but not the entire thing. It breaks right where the tines end. Hopefully enough to kill the weed anyway? We’ll see I guess.

It’s well made, and works well at pulling one off things that are floating around on their own…but if the weeds are near plants you want to keep (aren’t they always) this is liable to pull or hurt those plants too.I thought practice would solve this but it did not.Inherently I use it less than expected

If you have a crabgrass problem like we do, this thing does work. And it’s easy to pull out the masses compared to just using your hands. Works as Described
Good for getting weeds by the roots out of level ground. Had an area covered in weeds that was a bit harder to clear with the weeder due to having to angle it different ways to get the lever on the ground. As other reviewers mention the weeder is a bit short so I still ended up having to bend my back/knees a bit which didn’t help. However, it does work as described so I gave it four stars. But I’m going to see if I can get a new stick for it more suited to my height.

Thanks Grandpa!
Was looking for a weed puller and came across this one. After reading and watching reviews decided to give it a try. I will say that this was fairly easy to use. You must place directly over the center of the weed and get as deep as you can for it to be effective. I live in Az and have rocky terrain, so sometimes this was useless due to rocks below. But, all in all it did save my back for most of the area I used it on. I think it was money well spent and only time will tell if the wooden handle holds up over time. Thanks Gramps!

EXCELLENT

Something so simple, yet so effective. I purchased this for mainly my wife to use in her flower garden. It does what they claim it will do. I got it but was unsure how well it would work. It worked great! No batteries, no getting on your knees. Just take a few minutes to read the instructions.

This weeder is rugged and does a good job on most weeds. However, I bought this weeder to get rid of dallas grass. This is a tough weed to pull up unless the ground is moist and soft. The deep root system get clogged/wedged in the head an difficult to clear.

I like it for short weeds such as dandelions but is not all the effective for taller weeds. For taller weeds you’ll need to cut them down to an inch or so from the ground with some other tool , then you can grab them and pull them out with the roots using this weeding tool.

Works Well
Gets the jobs done for pulling out weeds that don’t come out easily by hand.

This was just what I was looking for! Im trying to keep the use of pesticides to a minimum, and this was my choice after reading all the reviews.

Works good if soil is not real wet or has too much clay
Our soil has too much clay and if it’s too wet weed has to be pulled out of prongs. If soil is looser it works pretty good.

sturdy construction
Have big plans for the spring using this. It seems very sturdy and I like that you don’t need to bend over to use.

Works
This works pretty good but removing the extracted weeds is messy. You have to remove manually.

It works well to pull large weeds.

Works good.
You have to pick out the weeds from the fork. Your aim has to be good to get the dandelion root. Leaves a 1”x1” extraction hole.

Good for certain types of weeds
I wanted to love this since I hate pulling weeds. It works great for some types of weeds like dandelions with a big tap root. For other types, it is not as good. Also, if the soil is moist the root/dirt clod gets stuck and has to be manually extracted.

It’s probably me
I’m a 78 yo, 4’11” woman who’s a bit clumsy – I finally figured out how it works, but it wasn’t as easy for me as portrayed.

Good tool for dandelions
Weeds with fragile roots can be removed with this design. I like it.

Works great, but tines should be longer
It’s just too bad that the tines aren’t a little longer. It pulls the dandelion root out just like it describes, but not the entire thing. It breaks right where the tines end. Hopefully enough to kill the weed anyway? We’ll see I guess.

Very sturdy. Good quality
Impressed with quality of this unit. Strong, heavy metal prong. smooth wood pole. No fear of splinters or breaking. Takes some practice extracting weeds in dirt and rocky areas.
Chris Meyer –
Pulls nearby plants too.
It’s well made, and works well at pulling one off things that are floating around on their own…but if the weeds are near plants you want to keep (aren’t they always) this is liable to pull or hurt those plants too.I thought practice would solve this but it did not.Inherently I use it less than expected

easy and fun!
who knew picking weeds could be fun and enjoyable? not me. Love this thing, my neighbor was jealous and got one for himself too. Best on crab grass but not so much other weeds that are bigger or too small
Mr. DIY D –
Works on damp soil and larger weeds
Saves bending over. Welded small metal plate between the two grasping forks. This allows for better grip and prevents weed from slipping through the fork.

Love it
Best Christmas gift ever.

It works.
Start early in the season on crabgrass or you’ll be overwhelmed. This thing does what it says it does. Keep a bag of topsoil around to fill the holes.

Great garden tool
I ordered his tool last fall and used it to pull up thistle in our “natural” yard in Nebraska. It worked great on the thistle and dandelions! So I ordered 2 more for Christmas gifts for my children in Wisconsin! Great product!

Love This!
Wow! What a great product! I’ve been having issues with different kinds of spraying or seed fertilizer/ chemicals to try and remove the weeds from my yard. But then I heard about this product and I was like why not I’ll give it a try and not does it work! Super easy to use may take some time if you have a lot of weeds in your yard but it can be done pulls the weed right down to its root and rips it out of the ground. No big mess and don’t have to worry about harmful chemicals hurting pets or small children in your yard.

Great for crab grass if that’s what you’ve got…
If you have a crabgrass problem like we do, this thing does work. And it’s easy to pull out the masses compared to just using your hands. I have tried it on some other weeds, and it doesn’t work as well. It works so well with crabgrass because it has a center mass to grab onto. So, if that’s what you’ve got, I recommend this product!!

Works So Good
This made pulling weeds a lot easier. Small weeds were difficult to grab onto and big ones with long roots really put it to the test. So some I ended up having to dig out.
Kevin J. Mongrain –
Great when soil is dry
This works perfectly — except when soil is wet. Then it clumps up and you need to stop after every weed to clean out the fork.

Pulling weeds without bending over
For bigger weeds, the clamp doesn’t grab the entire weed. But it does pick up, root and all, a smaller weed. And it still saved me from bending over.

Super easy on the back
I love this product for weeds. Very easy to use and better for your back! I will be getting more of these as gifts
