Quality “go-to” gardening tool
This quickly became the “go-to” gardening tool for preparing soil for planting and mulching, mixing and digging small holes. The p-handle reduces hand strain and supports one’s ability to be mindful of ergonomics while gardening. Have also purchased as a gift for friends and they love it as well.

Breaks up clods of soil for planting
I highly recommend this product in the longer handled pistol grip configuration. With the longer handle, you can use two hands and break up soil clods much faster. If you’re putting seedlings into the ground you need to break up soil clods, assuming you are breaking ground and not just using a bag or truckload of added soil or compost. This tool shines in its ability to quickly break up the soil into a fine enough tilth for planting. However, it is not the only tool you would need. If you are breaking new ground, a shovel, hoe, broadfork would be beneficial. But for the SPECIFIC SPOTS where the seedlings are transplanted, you can then hold the p grip with two hands, and with a scraping motion break up the clods fairly quickly into a fine tilth. It is still going to be hard work, but better for your soil than overtilling and inverting the soil, which is quite bad for soil fertility after a few seasons.

A High Quality Hand Tool
This is a quality tool with a solid feel. Used it both in the garden and in my lawn to remove weeds. Handle is the best length for comfortable working.

Wide, rounded tines dig & gather well
I just finished major hedge trimming, and I used this to collect the pieces of limbs. The wide metal hand-shaped rake pulled such a large bundle I could barely pick it up. I’m very impressed, and something else: the tines are sharpened almost to a point, then the points are cut off, so it didn’t puncture my hoses under the leaves & twigs. Looking at out of the box, I was disappointed by the blunt tips, but they’re sharp enough to dig and gather, yet the tips won’t poke holes in me or my equipment. Looks a little odd, but it’s thoughtful design. Also, another reviewer mentioned the handle cross bar coming loose. Mine is secure, but would be easy to reglue or stabilize with a nail or screw. As it is, the handle grip has no screw bump to irritate my hand. Another design choice, I think.

It feels nice and works effortlessly. As a beginner gardener, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this tool. Will definitely purchase more hand tools from this company.

A cultivator that should last for many years
I’ve bent enough of these types of tools over the years I wanted to finally get a good quality product. This looks to fit that bill perfectly. It seems very sturdy and well built from quality steel. I’m very pleased with it and am sure I’ll be using this exact same tool for many years.

Best Garden Tool!
I have had the Dewitt 3 Tyne Cultivator for 7 years but when I went to use it today…..it was gone! I am ordering another today. This is my favorite and most used tool. I love to garden and this cultivator does an excellent job and would have lasted for many more years if it hadn’t disappeared. Easy to handle and comfortable even when pounding apart our Arizona concrete/rock soil. The handle was as smooth as the day I bought it, no splinters or cracks. The tines looked new after 7 years….

Perfect for my size and needs!
I’m a small person, but have a huge garden. I have areas where the ground cover has overgrown and needs to be thinned out. I can’t get much leverage using the standard long-handled cultivator to pull and rip the ground cover out in hunks. The T-handle gives me the pulling power I need and shortens the effort and amount of time it takes to get these wild ground cover beds tamed!
